Very dark crimson to purple, with a good amount of very fine particles throughout, notably sweet fruit, with an acid jolt mid-palate. Tannins fine and somewhat subdued. Juicy, but past its prime and likely will be madierated in a few years. Still tasty if you like it a bit sweetish.

Last bottle over several years. I would say each got progressively more disappointing. Upon opening, this bottle was major funky, and that funk moderated only slightly over 3 hours. Almost medicinal taste. Down the drain.

Not much left in the tank. Nose was beautiful, rich baked cherries, a little pipe tobacco, but the palate was thin and weak. A little fruit at first, but faded quickly.

Surprised at how good this was, especially considering the price. Hint of tomato(?!?) and cherry. Integrated tannins. No "Rutherford dust" detectable, but, who cares! Moderate alcohol 13.7% - a really nice bottle.

This wine is drinking extremely well right now. Excellent balance between fruit and earthy notes. Long, complex finish. I upped my rating significantly from 2 years ago.

Very smooth black fruit, Tannins are well-integrated. Lots of ripe, juicy plums and typically dusty. Drink it now. I've seen some other notes that say it's past its prime; Not sure I agree with them, but it is definitely *AT* its prime.

The nose is multi-faceted with blackcurrant, cherry, green pepper, eucalyptus, and a touch of licorice and black pepper. The taste is ultra-smooth with rich cherry, gentle strawberry, and sweet vanilla. The finish is uber-smooth with a little bit of cocoa and super-refined tannins that are gentle, yet prominent. This wine is really really good and I really wish I bought more of it for the $16 price tag. In fact, I wish I would have bought a truckload more.

Stunning. Beautiful nose of dark fruit, earth and everything in between. Smooth and luscious on the palate with black fruit, coffee and vanilla oak. Best wine I've had in a while. At the state monopoly sale price - can't be beat.

Let decant for about 30min but this didn't open for about 1hr - think it is drinking rather well right now. Beautiful dark color with a fine nose. Simply drank for a great evening.

Very nice bottle! Dark garnet color, fantastic nose of dark berries and currant, velvet mouth feel with well structured fruit, acidity and tanins. Lingering finish. A must repeat.

Pine Ridge Cabernet vertical: The 2004 was in third place but still needs a bit of time to develop further; the group gave it an 88 but I suspect that score would have been a bit higher if not for the side by side showing of the 2003 and 2002.

An hour in a decanter, come on let's get a life, oops did I say that out loud. We enjoyed this at a trade show in Orlando at The Captial Grille. It was the third bottle of red that night so we took it down a notch (Beilieu Latour Cab), but we really enjoyed this. Ruby purply red, a nice oaky nose. i got pepper, currant or some kind a berry, leathery, and it made us crave a good cigar. That might have been the alcohol speaking. A nice 40ish dollar a bottle of wine (105 at CG). I'd do it again.

Started off a little hot, but after about an hour in a decanter, it opened up very nicely. A well structured and jammy wine with blueberry, rasberry and strawberry mixed with cocoa and dust, the finish lingered quite a while.

Brilliant ruby color in the glass. It's a bright, lithe medium-bodied wine, with nothing exaggerated. A little currant, a little dusty red fruit, a little chocolate and brown spice, all nicely delineated. This is a wine that reminds me that power isn't everything. Tannins on the finish are a little powdery/grainy, but that's not much of a mark against it.

Intense and well-focused, with currant, blackberry, toasty oak and jammy plum. Supple and balanced, leaving you hoping for a bit more depth midpalate. Finishes with some firm tannins. An excellent effort and worth a repeat.

An excellent wine at a reasonable price. Pine Ridge has access to grapes from a prime location in Rutherford which they creat a nnicely balanced, fruit forward cab with a nice finish. This wine is the value of the year.
