After checking, this is the third corked bottle that I encounter in Beaujolais (the other two were from Desvignes and Lapallu). Three out of 138 is not a good record, well over twice my overall average which stands to date at 15 corked bottles out of 1438 recorded tastings, so a little over 1%; always annoying but far less widespread than what some people think.

No notable change from 15 months ago when I last opened a bottle. Nice Burgundian/Foillard, earthy, spicy, savory pungency, with darkish fruit and flowers. Good acidity. Light on tannins. Good stuff, quite enjoyable.

13% alcohol. Short cork with minimal inscription "mis en bouteille dans la région de production", plus the vintage; some tartrate deposits (white, strangely). The colour is medium with no sign of ageing. The nose has good intensity with red berries and liquorice. The mouth adds strawberry-like flavours (not in an in-your-face way) and excellent acidity, not piercing. Overpowered by grilled quail, not a pairing to be repeated. Much better on its own afterwards. A textbook fragrant Beaujolais without any of the flaws often associated with the "nature" fraternity. Very good but not in a class of its own as some people contend. A repeat purchase depending on price (currently 14€, which is about right).

Really tasty and well balanced gamay. Went perfectly with suckling pig. Ripe red fruits, a little spice, barnyard/wet hay bouquet, but delicious to quaff. @Bonito St Barth’s

Morgon Classique Jean Foillard 2017 - Piacevole e composto. All'inizio più vegetale/floreale con note olivastre, poi vengono fuori i piccoli frutti rossi. Elegante ed equilibrato a tutto pasto.

Had this at a restaurant. Just a short note to record my impression that this wine is two notches down from the Côte du Py in this vintage. Not bad but nothing special, and definitely below Lapalu's Beaujolais Villages of the same vintage that I had a week later.

P&p; drinking well right away. Smells great - pungent, fresh, jumping out of the glass. Pretty, cohesive mix of reddish and darker fruit/flowers with good secondary interest, typical rubbery (in a good way) and Burgundian sort of earthy, spicy, savory/mushroom/forest floor notes. Delicious. Good acidity. Tannins are lightish but lend some nice structure. Seems built for near-term drinking. Good stuff, and a good value.

Un très bon vin tout en douceur . Un vin qui est calme . Qui se laisse boire tout doucement . Sur la violette et la mûre. Finesse et élégance . Reste un bon rapport qualité prix pour 35$. Beau maintenant .

The eye- Clear ruby red still pink to the edge. The nose- Reluctant creamy cranberry/strawberry/cherry fruit wafts over red liquorice and mineral elements, better with 10-15 minutes in the glass. The palate- More generous than the nose, delicious strawberry and cranberry cocktail, nice refreshing astringency, really good Foillard Morgon. A couple of years of tasty drinking.

Benefitted from an hour in a decanter. Really tasty - dark fruits on the nose, medium plus acid. Well balanced. Good QPR.

Super aromatic, lifted, lovely. Lacks a touch of stuffing on the mid palate, quite acid driven, but a lovely bottle nonetheless

Enjoyable Beaujolais. It's not the deepest or most complex but it's an excellent drinker and is great with food.
