Great QPR. Decanted for 2 hours. Was rewarded by sweet black and blue fruits, touch of mineral, refreshing acidity. Tasted when opened and it still needed air in my opinion. Very nice wine.

PnP this time and it was a bit thinner than previous bottle. But after being open for an hour and a half or so it developed to where it was in line with my previous note. I really like this stuff.

Pnp at a gathering. Was very closed. No aroma to speak of and very little fruit. Rather alcoholic and very tannic. Think a decant is needed right now or the wine is in a dumb phase. Not sure. Score is based on the last sip that showed potential. I would hold this for a few years or decant for an hour or more.

Red & black berries, little cherry. Soft tannins & acidity. Medium bodied, but has a surprisingly long finish. Really jumps up on you as to how good it is.

Fruit driven Right Bank Bordeaux blend. Ruby colour, raspberry black cherry on nose, baking spices on palate ahead of pepper which was also there. Some pyrazine. Large body, fruit focused but pleasantly dry, med acidity. Med-long finish. Drank with main course minestrone soup and baked root vegetables. OK pairing.

The '16 is 51% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec. The nose shows scents of blackberry, plum, cassis and fig with aromas of herbs, cedar, mocha, pencil shavings and hints of vanilla and floral accents. The palate shows a full body. Firm, full tannins and juicy, above moderate acidity come with a creamy mid-palate and smooth textures. Flavors of marionberry, black plum, fig and cassis come with poultry herbs, no.2 pencil, cigar, cedar, dark chocolate, vanilla and traces of espresso. The grippy finish lingers with the tannins gaining intensity. Overall this is clearly very young, but with air time shows nicely. I'd give it a year or so, but should drink well for a decade+

Dark ruby color. Merlot dominates the profile with black currants, blackberry, smoke and soft leather. Soft tannins. I love Washington Merlot.
