  • Had loads of citrus on the nose along with oyster shell and mint. It was direct and detailed, rich and engaging. There was great texture and build and serious grapefruit cut to the long finish.

  • Dinner at home (Chicago, IL): Fantastic bottle of Dauvissat -- such a frustratingly inconsistent producer with bottles showing weird so often. But this bottle -- wow. Quintessence of Chablis. Salty, minerally, lemon zest. That's it. That's the note.

  • At the River Cafe. From the very beginning, clearly a high quality producer and a well made wine. Initially the acidity and minerality dominate all other elements. As it warmed up and had some time with air, the nose opened up with much more fruit and floral notes. Body was thinner than expected throughout.

  • Found this on a restaurant list for less than retail, so had to jump on the opportunity to try this for the first time. Opened at cellar temp, chilled, then consumed after ~1 hour of slow ox.
    I know it would be far ahead of its time, but boy - this is truly infanticide to drink this right now. It is very pleasant today with a swath of classic chablis character and it's clearly hinting at a beautiful, layered future, but at present I found this quite thin and lacking the distinction and weight I typically associated with Clos.

  • Amazing - complex, vibrant. One of my top 3 whites in 2022 for sure. Probably just slightly behind Kongsgaard Judge 2008 which is my number 1 for 2022.

  • Ordered at a restaurant as the price wasn’t bad and we were celebrating. This was super young. The nose was initially all crushed rock and dusty earth. Very lean and not giving much. There were some hints of sea breeze and lime peel underneath. After about an hour of air it started to pick up steam with citrus peel, green apple, lots of iodine and sea breeze, and eventually some lovely floral notes. The chiseled rock notes stayed throughout but became more background with air. The palate was excellent though also pretty tight. The intensity and concentration are what you would expect from this wine which is to say incredible. The finish initially feels a bit clipped but as it airs out it begins to expand. Not as good at the ‘14 for me, but it is a great vintage of this wine and is only really beginning to hint at it’s promise.

  • Klar strågul. Litt lukket nese, men viser saltvann, sitron, kritt, ananas, hvit fersken. Vektløs i munnen med østers, sitron, grønne epler, kritt, hvit fersken, røyk. Sutil og underfundig utover i smakskurven med mange lag. Perfekt balanse mellom den høye syra og konsentrert frukt. Integrert fat. Så intens og konsentrert, likevel så avstemt og detaljert. Svært lang. 96-97

  • Some of that jellybean aroma, pear and ‘perm.’ Pear fruited, no herb. Very easy drinking an already in the pocket next to his 18 Forest.

  • Youthful and slightly closed on aromas, yet the typical fresh Chablis that melt hearts come out with wonderfully concentrated and juicy citrus fruit, citrus peel and the lovely salty spring stone feeling that is experienced as liberating between these warm vintages that now characterize Chablis.

    Pretty full-bodied and pronounced fresh Les Clos with beautifully concentrated juicy citrus fruit, lime peel and delicious salts. The balance between the pretty obese middle part, the fantastic crispy sea minerality and the fabulous fresh fruit is enormous, although it is still obvious that this one needs a little more decade to bloom. Wonderful acid-rich finish, with this fresh lime acid that creates desire.

    Fantastic Les Clos which in my book beats the 2014 vintage. Here you get a classic Cablis feeling, yet with forward-facing fruit that impresses. sublime wine that has more to go on. 96 points. For now. (96-98p)

  • Intensity of flavor here, but a light touch. Plenty of minerality, appealing floral notes, and energetic acids. 95+
