Continuing to shine. Pale gold. Aromas of roses and lemons. Good balance of acidity and lemon, if a bit more mellow now. Some green apples. Round texture, with a long finish. This is the last of 6.

Delicious. Served very chilled on 95 degree day, poolside and with and after dinner. Went fine with sausage and various veggies, prob best on own. Could sip all day, even when warms just as good. Great QPR.

Nose: Deep grassy notes, white flower, smoke, lime peel.
Mouth: A smooth sheen of sweet white pear glides through and picks up streaks of honeysuckle, mango, green melon, and powdered granite. Powdery honeysuckle and dried pea pod come through at the end, firing into an extended finish.
Overall: Distinctive, elegant, and pure, everything comes through on a glossy sheen, picking up steam in the various flavors over time and lingering as it goes. The green notes that shine through will have detractors, but the base level of quality here is high enough to more than make up the difference. Note that 12% Semillon is here in a nod to Bordeaux, but the Sauvignon still certainly holds reign. Maybe more resonant for it, this is a winner. 88% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Semillon. Drink now - 2022.

Pale yellow in color and clear in the glass; Aromas of pink grapefruit, lime, pineapple, grass, vanilla cream, and white flowers on the nose; tastes of pineapple, green apples, grass, white flowers, and slate minerality on the palate; medium body and medium(+) acidity; long finish lasting well over a minute. The addition of 12% Semillon and the use of Acacia barrels really gave this wine a full, rounded, and creamy mouthfeel that I absolutely loved.

After drinking one of the 2018 Alder Groves, I wanted to check in on the 2017 and see how they're evolving. Still very delicious with perhaps a bit more grapefruit/pomelo/bell pepper thing than I remember. Otherwise, my previous notes apply. Delicious!

Grapefruit dominated SB more in NZ style. Hints of muted lime tried to come through but was dominated by the grapefruit. Can tell this a well made wine if this is the style you like. Cousin Pudge did not like from the start because of the dominate grapefruit notes.

Quivira’s Alder Grove bottling is one of the better CA Sauvignon Blancs that I’ve had. The bouquet is very pretty with pomelo, elderflower and soft bell pepper notes. On the palate, it’s even more exciting with golden raspberries, lime and minerals. The finish is long with acid that excites, giving this so much life. This is the best wine I’ve yet tasted from Quivira and definitely on my radar moving forward. As a side note: Quivira is a certified biodynamic producer and a must visit if you’re ever in Dry Creek; even if it’s just to walk their property and eat produce from their garden right off the tree or right out of the ground.

A straw-colored blend of 88% Sauvignon Blanc and 12% Sémillon, this refreshing white is more than just a summertime sipper. The wine's production not only involved skill with the varietal blending, but also in fermentation and aging. Only 20% was fermented and aged in stainless steel; the remaining 80% was fermented and aged in small and large French oak barrels, as well as barrels made from Acacia wood. Approximately 15% of the cooperage was new. What resulted is a wine of impressive depth and character. Packed with citrus, pit fruits, mango, gooseberry and melon, there is also a modicum of grassiness that gives it just the right amount of varietal character. Despite the relatively high percentage of Sémillon, it retains a mouth-watering amount of acidity that buttresses the oak and alcohol (13.7%). Nicely dense on the mid-palate and concluding with a lengthy crisp finish, this is an impressive Sauvignon Blanc that stands above the crowd. Drink now-2022.
I was surprised to find a NZ style SB come out of Cali! Fresh, clean, and lifted. Nose of grapefruit, lemongrass, with a hint of lime. Palate mirrors the nose. Finishes long with mango and grapefruit.
Pair with fish or shrimp with mango salsa

Pale straw in color, clear; grapefruit, lime, and lemon on the nose; grapefruit and lemon on the palate; round and textured body with a creamy mouthfeel that lingers into the long lemony finish. This was an amazing and well-balanced sauvignon blanc.
