Retail $32. DIAM5. Yet another leftover from the Second Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir back in November of 2019. I was a fan of this wine 18 months ago, and I still am. Tons of cherry on the nose with some black earth, a touch of vanilla, and some black pepper on the nose. The palate is appropriately fruity, but also balanced by a zingy acidity, with the aforementioned fruit, earth, and just a hint of anise. Very nice.
Reading reviews, there must be some bottle variance with this vintage. I’m with the higher scores. I have drank three from an 8 bottle purchase, and I have no “thinness”. I get a nice lower priced wine that has good strawberry fruit, with some mushroom/earthy backend, that’s well balanced and should drink well for 2-4 years. Decent QPR.

Meh… That is probably the best thing I can say about this wine. WAYNO was spot on with it being “thin… stretched”. Had with Greek salmon appetizer and shrimp scampi and did not compliment in any way. No true earthy or “barnyard” quality that makes PN fun to drink. As a wine at a cocktail party I’m sure it’s fine, a great smooth drinker. I guess I was expecting more from an “Estate” wine at the price. The wine looks garnet colored. The body is light. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes short.

The Second Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $32. Dark red fruit, a bit of menthol, some earth. The palate, again, is perfectly fine with good balance, ample fruit, some discernable tannin. Nice. Excellent. 90-92 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

Very gentle on the nose, but the flavor is very pleasant with a hint of forest strawberry.

Very good Oregon Pinot. More French format but smooth and excellent berry taste.

This did not have a lot going for it. Thin...felt 'stretched'. Completely disappeared against an herbed salmon dinner.

Pinot in the City (Chicago, IL): Walk-around tasting, brief note. Red cherry throughout. Fun and easy-going with good balance and medium weight.
