45 minute decant. Light nose of black raspberry and grasses. Soft palate of raspberry, violets, fresh thyme, and punk thistle. Palate delivers iron, rocks, light tannins, light black pepper, and dry purple fruits. Unexciting and fairly soft.

Whoa…what a transformation after two hours of air…highly recommend. Great nose of bacon, earth, spice. Taste is bold and alive. Not gamey but perfectly balanced. Wow

Dark in the glass. Nose of red licorice, wet stone, and wet leaves. Very little fruit on the palate, showing mostly stone and earth. Not a lot of tannins, either, so I don't think this will be a long-aging wine. Good, just a lighter vintage.

Unlike the reserve which is brighter and more fruit forward, the trick with the 2017 prestige is oxygen. Give this baby an overnight in the fridge and you’ll be rewarded.

PNP on this beauty. Nose is strong perfume of earth, sweet plum, and dark fruit. This is more full than medium bodied. Bold taste with lots of tannin that gives way to mineral and graphite. This wine has a lot more aging potential than the CDP reserve from RS. Great wine built to last.

Decanted. Deep, purple-garnet color, mostly opaque with bright ruby edges. Aromas of smoked plum & blackberry compote, fresh violets & garrigue, melted stone, bay leaf & black tea. Bold on the palate, plenty of expression, hints of freshness, black fruit with hints of blue. Savory depth of wild herbs, stony soil, paprika and clove spices. Elegant, rounded edges and palate-filling, with enough acid to frame its richness. Closes with broad ripe tannins a warm spicy length. Broad and ripe with good balance, and drinking very well.

Soft, polished, silky and fresh the wine is elegant, earthy and shows a lot of purity in the kirsch on the mid-palate and finish. The wine was made blending 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and various other grape varieties.
