Wow. This really opened up after 30 min or an hour. It started out hostile, almost undrinkable, but after a little air it evened out and tasted beautiful.

Viognier is not one of our faves (except Guigal La Doriane) but this is a nice change for lunch. I was surprised to see it at Wine Library for $25, IIRC I paid twice that or more from Alban a few years ago. We were not crazy about it so didn't take the next allocation. Looks like we were not alone and they cut the price. If you like Viognier this is for you!

Blind Tasting of Santa Barbara County 2017 Viogniers and a ringer: Notes of concentrated tangerine, pine oil and dried flowers. Big ripeness, a bit monolithic, showing secondary spice and some heat. Low acidity. Fleshy middle palate leading to a one-dimensional finish with lingering spice.

Just lovely. Orange marmalade, mango, starfruit. Crisp and delightful. Unfiltered, with micro bits of fruit in every sip. Drink up.

Right off the bat, you can smell pineapples, mangoes and lychees. Medium bodied, creamy, tastes of honey and hint of lime
