Always good, some of the best Pinot Noir made in the world. I haven’t had much California wine recently, so my pallet may be skewed towards old world, but this seemed to be sweeter than the typical Occidental.

I brought this to a restaurant dinner with friends and it went fast so I did not get to examine too closely. It was my first bottle from an auction purchase and i distinctly recall thinking, whoa, this wine is both powerful and delicate. How can that be. It hits with a great nose and deep flavor and depth but seems to pull back enough to make it seem somewhat delicate. We enjoyed with a range of food and it perferformed well with all.

Beautiful color which is expected. Broad range of flavors from plum-cherry. Acid level is what makes this great! It would hold up with some pretty bold food but would sing with a pork loin with berry sauce. Well done! Also a pork ragu over pasta or rice.

Drank in honor of purchase of 2 more of these. A little more acidic, in the "bright" sense than I expected and would likely be awesome with food. Wait a couple years before drinking again though.

Deep ruby. Atrong aromas of florist shop, toasted oak and grape stem. Great atructure (acidity and tannin on point). Flavors of bright cranberry, strawberry and plum. Long finish. Very good.

Popped, double decanted, and tasted. Still a little cool at time of tasting.
Wine is crimson, bright, moderately clear. No signs of age.
On nose, bold and aromatic notes of baking spices, red fruit emphasizing cherries, touch of fennel, hint of vanilla.
On palate, wine is sound. Moderate acid, low tannin, medium alcohol. Very long finish. Amazingly well balanced, red fruit predominant, touch of hay on super long finish. Hint of mineral.
This is the apotheosis of Sonoma Coast pinot noir to me. Beautifully made, nothing heavy-handed, super elegant. Not a fruit bomb at all. Wow. This is one of my favorite wines in the world for a reason. Too bad there's only one allocation per year!

A very nice PN from the hills above Bodega Bay. Saturated ruby, with a spicy nose dominated by red currents, hints of scented geranium and strawberry pate de fruit. The fruit is ripe but not sweet, medium acidity, mineral and slightly saline finish.

Occidental PNs for the day: Much broader next to Elizabeth. Darker fruited and some more concentration. Dark berry palate, acid is pulled back from the Elizabeth 2016. Blackberry LifeSaver.

Love this wine. Our first experience. Leaps from the glass. Cedar, cherry, and clove. Great acidity with cherry and pomegranate. Does it have the acidity to age?

Opened morning for the evening. Dark smoky crimson. Very little nose. On the palate, dark concentrated smoky damson and cherry fruit. Concentrated but unlike some of the other heavyweight Cali pinots I have tried absolutely no hint of confected over-ripe fruit. Just drinking now but with years left to run. SK does it again.

Aroma: Savory with wood shavings, red plums, pomegranate, roasted meat and cedar. Violets and nutmeg. Palate: Creamy plum, pomegranate and red currant. Herbal notes: tarragon, rosemary and fennel. Juicy acidity. Some black and blue berry notes. Complex and full of finesse.

Tasted at the winery. Almost approachable now. Blueberries, currants, black cherries, floral, and hints of licorice and herbs. Elegant wine with a long finish.

Popped and decanted. This tasting is 30 minutes after decanted.
Wine is just a luscious crimson color. A little turbid. Looks young.
On nose, wine is sound. Cherries, anise, earth. Just lovely - everything we love in pinot noir. Fairly aromatic.
On palate, wine is sound. Very round mouthfeel and super long finish. Cherries, dust, and perhaps roses prominent on palate. Great balance. Medium acid, medium tannin.
Not convinced that this is built to age but it's moot because there's no chance my other bottle of this will make it out of April. This is really, really good stuff. It's highly concentrated but not overbearing like some California Pinots. It's light on its feet, and in that way, reminds me a lot of the Kistler Chardonnays. This may be my new favorite wine.

Drank at Papa’s Steakhouse. Definitely needs a decant to open up. Once open, deep flavors of raspberry and spice with a medium finish.

This is a magical wine. No notes... other than GC feel, complexity, aromatics, magic in a New World pinot. I wish I would have bought a lot more.

Positively a tsunami of acid married with long lingering ruby tinged cherry flavors. Fines herbes. Not even remotely ready.

Bay Area Redux - Anniversary trip 2019; 6/26/2019-6/29/2019 (Napa, Sonoma, and points in between): Similar bright crimson. Darker notes of tobacco, plums, spice. Palate: beautiful balance - good acid with fruit. Fantastic. We bought a bottle for corkage that night and it was great with dinner at Torc in Napa.
