One of the best Syrahs I have had, period. Very old world IMHO, which I enjoyed. Terrific dark fruit, leather, barnyard, on the nose. Silky mouthfeel with explosive dark fruit. My last bottle. I would buy more if I could find it again at $30.

Dark color, ripe blue/black fruit, licorice, pepper and tiny bit of meat. I didn't get much of a N Rhone impression from the nose as this one was pure Central Coast type aromas. Very balance palate with great mouthfeel, integrated tannins, great balancing acidity.

Had before and after a 2005 Bordeaux tasting, was my favorite of the evening. Full Bodied with earth, bacon fat, dark fruit, leather/tobacco. Easy to think it was from N Rhone. Drinking perfect right now.

Something was amiss here. Nose is reticent, not giving much. Palate is marked by a volatile acidity that scours the mouth and back of throat. Tart, painfully astringent cherry notes. Yuk

My first Arcadian syrah. Holy moly. Barnyard on the palate, with recognizable Central Coast fruit profiles. Didn't even need a decant! Huge fan of these wines, and extremely glad I went long on 2005. How, oh how, to keep my hands off these wines. Can't wait until the pinots come into their own.

Old world nose that is herbal and baryard-ish. Smokey red fruit on the palate that is framed by a bright acidity. Finishes with a peppery-dark cherry and notes of bbq meat. I really like this '03 again. Glad I have more. Delicious. At $20, highway robbery.

Big iodine nose, bit of barnyard too. Palate is framed with a deliciously bright acidity and laced with dark cherry fruit and peppery spice. Evolves nicely in the glass. Just a little bit of heat on the finish that is present, but not too problematic. I think this will be even bettwr with a few years really for my palate.

Deep and dark with a long bitter finish. Burnt toast, walnut along with dark fruit. I believe this wine needs several years to come together A California wine with an eye towards the old world. Nice. B

Very tightly wound. After an hour it began to open up to dark berries and that gamey rhone syrah flavor. Nice now with decanting, but this could be something special in a few years. Joe's best syrah yet, abeit my first 2003 Arcadian syrah.

This guy is still a pup. excellent as usual from Arcadian. Not as much spice/pepper as I've seen in Joe's syrahs. Excellent balance of dark fruits, some wood with spice in the background. good finish

Bright fruit, good acidity. Peppery, not over the top at all. Missing much in the way of any wow factor, but a very nice bottle of wine.
