93% Grenache and 7% Mourvèdre. Bought on release from the winery. I don’t know why I drink anything other than Torrin. Year in and year out they produce. Opened and drank over several weeks and each glass exploded with flavors of berries, grilled red bell peppers, turmeric, sea salt, earth, and I don’t know what. Not funky. Not ethereal. It’s Orson Welles in Chimes at Midnight, rather than The Third Man. Mysterious, yes, but boisterous and fun not basically sinister.
This may have been an off bottle. Nose was off, smelled to dates and old raisins. This definitely tasted way over the hill. I have another in the cellar and we'll probably open it this summer and see if it's any better. This is the first time I've had an issue with a bottle of Torrin.

This was my bottle of choice to go with a cult Cali Grenache theme. I’ve only had Torrin’s Syrahs, and they are one of the few Paso producers who seem to knock it out of the park for my style. We had ‘05, 07 and ‘18 SQN Grenache, along with ‘13 SQN EBA Grenache, 2018 Andremily and 2018 Lillian Grenache, 2015 Alban Grenache, 2013 Saxum Rocket Block, 2013 Alban Pandora and others.
My first note here was strawberry purée alongside black peppercorns. Very aromatic and pretty, with plenty of spice and red fruited aromatics. Gorgeous red/light purple in the glass. It’s one of those wines that has a richness to it without being flabby. Good acidity. I pop and poured this and it was ready to go, with more spiced red fruit on the palate like rhubarb, crunchy underripe blackberries, herbal spice and more peppercorns. I re-corked and had the remaining third later in the evening and it seemed to have bulked up. Good now, and has room to improve a bit. Delicious.
Torrin continues to produce some of the best wines in CA. This one is a grenache blend with a little mourvedra. It is extremely well integrated with big fruit forward style. I recommend you try some of Scott's wines if you get the chance.
Awesome! Beautiful clarity in a rich dark, medium to full bodied red. Aromas burst with berry and cherry fruits, well balanced and smooth on the palate, fruit forward, and rich, long finish. I love Grenache, and this is what I look for! Sorry that I only have 3 bottles.

Pleasantly surprised with this one. Light translucent purple in the glass. Nose of cherry, blackberry, raspberry and with notes of smoke and crushed pepper. Flavors are similar but more dominated by raspberries and plum. Medium acidity and tannins. Medium plus body. Nice break from my usual big cabs and enjoyed by all. About 92-93.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of aspirin, smoke, black raspberries and white pepper. Flavors of chewy currants, raspberries and dried plums. Medium acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.

See prior note. This is so f*#%ing good! Alcohol is very well hidden behind a sweet cherry liqueur palate. Modern and still structured. Great example of high octane Paso wine working.

In the top 5 Paso producers (maybe even number 2) based on the ones I’ve had recently. Big wine for sure but think a more softer, sweeter raspberry/red fruit driven Saxum. Good from the start but takes about 12 hours slow ox to really open up. Well made and will improve over the next 5 years and drink over the next 10.

Absolutely fantastic Grenache and Mouvedre blend. High alcohol but not evident. Drinks well right out of bottle.

This was phenomenal — very smooth, but it was also big in flavor. Just exploded out of the glass. Drink now or over next 7 years or so.

I love Torrin, maybe my favorite winery. This Grenache has 8% mourvedre in it. Special wine, just so exploding with flavor.

Paso Robles wines; 9/27/2019-9/28/2019 (Paso Robles): Tasted at winery, purity of grapes, just not interesting, needed more tannin some terroir.
