This wine really surprised me. I found it buried somewhere. The latest review was not good--must have been poor storage. When reading it, I thought maybe the person had a corked bottle based on their description...but when I pulled the foil off the top, I was surprised to see a plastic cork. So my assumption was wrong. This wine is singing! I have not posted in a long time and this wine inspired me to post. Terrific nose of red fruit and mid-palate to match. 30+ second finish. This wine has a long of life left in it. It is great now, but I think it will go for many more years. Excellent!

Raspberry in the nose. Strawberry and raspberry on the pallet. Medium finish with a cherry after taste. Tasting really good now. Don't know that it will get any better. This was our last bottle of this vinneyard/vintage.

Memorial Weekend Wine Tasting (Chehalem Mountains & Carlton, OR): From library bottles. I really wanted to love this wine, since it is from the nice 2006 vintage, but it was rather dull. All the components were there, but it seemed like they were all subdued somewhat. Cherries, leather, some tannins (slight). Well-made, just not that exciting, especially after the barrel samples.

I think I want to like this wine more than I actually do. I like Ken Wright’s wine especially Clawsen’s Creek’s Angela. This wine is nothing like Angela. By all accounts it’s pretty light weight. On the nose it’s got loads of sour cherries, earthy goodness, and a little smoke. The mid palette is very light with more sour cherries and plum, tannins are light. Finishes rather short and crisps.
This wine is rather ordinary and certainly not worth the $50… for and extra $5 I’d pick up a bottle of Angela which completely blows away this wine.
Remember, you don’t drink the label.

We had a New Years wine tasting and it was only average compared with other great wines. Hadn't had Elton Vineyard designation before. It is clearly less interesting than the other KW vineyard designations of this vintage. There just isn't much in the way of complexity; just straight forward and pleasant fruit. There was nothing unpleasant about this wine.....it's just not very special.

No bouquet; no finish; perhaps drank too late.

Drank this with Christmas eve family dinner. Very enjoyable wine. Much better than our starter wine.

dry earthy thing on nose and mouth upon opening, however after short decant this wine was nice. Weak nose, low tannins and soft finish. ok

Somewhat fruity with soft acidity. Black cherry, strawberry with hint of lychee.

A fine example. Nothing particularly exemplary, but a nice drink, if a bit young!
