Waited a long time on this and it didn't disappoint. Apricot, peach jam, clarified butter, and hint of rosemary and butterscotch and caramel. Best on night #3.

NOSE: rich; honey; touch of lychee.
BODY: rich, gold color; full bodied.
TASTE: Spat+ sweetness; golden raisins; medium acid; 10% alc. not noticeable; seems to be in a nice spot right now, and I don't think it would really improve with more age.

NOSE: strong petrol; very ripe Gala apple
BODY: golden yellow color; full bodied; no spritz
TASTE: quite sweet – sweeter than Spatlese; some botrytis, it seems; mineral on the finish; green grapes; medium acidity; quite delicious; I'm pleasantly surprised by the tension and nervous energy this wine seems to have --- when I had this wine four or five years ago it was nowhere near this good; drinks well now, but I do think there's room for further improvement. Drink Now or continue to Hold.

Gnosis who reviewed this the most previous to me was right on the money. Good but not great. I have another one that I will let sit for a bit and hit my 03 the next time I dig into the thai food.

Good not great, pretty sweet, broad, and fairly enjoyable, more for dessert. Not much for the acid structure, softer in that respect. Seems concentrated, with a nose that is not highly expressive but gives light intense aromas of mango, peach, almost petrol but not quite, more like a metallic aroma. Softer on the attack, lower acidity, viscous. Finishes with same fruit and almost a coconut fatness of a late harvest wine. Probably enough to age for a while, due to intensity. OK not great.

Whiffs of sulfur and cardboard predominated on the nose which made me suspect a bad bottle. The palate, however, gave a big burst of fruit, nectarine and lime, some leafiness, honeysuckle nectar. Round-bodied, okay finish. Even second night the aromas on this never became appealing - maybe the best character it ever exhibited was something like pear skins - not noxious, but never pleasing either. Decent palate is not enough to overcome aromatic flaws.

NOSE: typical Rheingau tropics; faint hint of petrol; hints of grass and mint; moderately expressive.
BODY: light green-golden yellow color; medium to medium-full bodied; no spritz.
TASTE: no botrytis; smoky acidity; mango and a hint of cherry; kinda loosely structured; not much drive; just exiting its infancy; weak rear palate and a short-to-medium finish (approx. 30 sec.) which starts strong but immediately and precipitously decrescendoes into a holding pattern for the remainder thereof; true Spatlese sweetness; somewhere in between not complex and moderately complex. Tasted virtually the same on Day 4, with no signs of degradation.

Has the honeyed mouthfeel of an Auslese, but the finish is muddled.

Dee Vine Pop Up Tasting (Glena's Tacos and Margaritas, San Francisco): Full yellow. Attractive spice and honey. Some early petrol. Moderately sweet, rich citrus, good soil. Could use a bit more acidity and oomph, but this is pretty tasty now.

Worked very nicely paired with Honey-Baked Ham at New Years Party. Otherwise a bit too flabby on its own.

Solid riesling, although a bit fat, especially on the finish. Would have been lovely with some more crispness.
