{screwcap, 13.5%} Still a fairly bright garnet red. Rustic sort of nose, though, with cranberry fruit, dusty, and a generally savoury air. The palate’s consistent, with loose knit red flavours, minimal grainy tannins, medium acidity. Only just medium-bodied, but it’s a bit dilute and washed out. The short finish is the giveaway. Not a bad wine, but not likely to make old bones.

Dark color, good Shiraz nose - on the restrained side. High acidity suggests that aging is in order (per Tahbilk tradition). Good now with food, but will be better in 2-5 years.

The previous note is a very very good read on this wine. Time and time again history has proven to not touch the core range Cab and Shiraz under 5yrs of age yet her we are. Strictly midweight, restrained, slightly gamey fruits, a little glassy. Consequently hard to read on the palate. Some nervy astringency. It will almost certainly settle and get better with age but I do have a increased level of concern about this vintage. Time will tell (as will the 11 bottles in my cellar). I'm a hard marker on this one.

Medium/Pale ruby color. Notes of blackberry jam, plum, baking spices and cigar box. Fairly simple on the palate: tart dark berry, with some hints of minerality/salinity. Smooth texture, somewhat soft, with medium fine-grained tannins.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Bright ruby crimson colour. Bright mulberry/cherry flavours and aromas. Touch of musk on the palate too. Very youthful, obviously. But low/medium acidity, and only gentle grape tannins, with minimal oak influence. Medium weight overall, fruit-driven but not a bomb; it has a medium length savoury finish which sits toward the front of the tongue. Should evolve a little with time, although I think all the higher level bottlings that Tahbilk has developed over the last decade or so has compromised a bit the longevity of this entry level cuvée.

Leather on the nose, dark fruit Ripe fruit, clean, fresh acidity. Creamy oak, Polished. Quite nice though note really showing at its best. Probably needs some time.
I like every tahbilk wine I have tasted over the last 35 years. This is no exception. Soft with lots of fruit and tannin. Very good opening soft in the middle with a lingering finish

Very much in the CH bracket. Rusty minerals, game, tangy. Not crowd pleasing but not without character. I’m compelled to give it time.
