Dark juicy and delicious with fresh acidity. Will mellow nicely in 1-3 years but enjoyable already l. Slight burnt note not otherwise solid, dark fruit spectrum. No decant needed but it did improve w air time.

Deep ruby color; aromatic with some plummy fruits, a bit of spice (cinnamon?); palate is full bodied, medium acidity, oak is a bit prominent, richer styled, high alcohol (15.5%, shows up a bit too much through the midpalate and finish), fruit fades through the midpalate; finish is short-medium. I can see why it has good reviews as it is a robust, flavorful, oaky version of barbera, but I tend to prefer the more refreshing versions with redder fruits, more acidity, and less oak. 86 for me, and I would not buy again.

Out for lunch with old friends at a pub with an uncommonly well-priced good quality wine list. We ended up having two of these beauties! This is a wine you’d want for Christmas, beautiful, full, spiced and pine cone fresh. I love Barbera but can’t think of any other bottling I’d describe as epic! 15.5% with masculine heft but a dancer’s spritely gait. Always hard to separate the qualities of a great bottle when you’re in a setting that also stirs your emotions but for today this stands as my favourite ever Barbera! Just stunning. Agree with the comment below that this is a more exciting Barbera than Giacomo Conterno’s Francia.

Lukt som lover spennende fruktig vin, kirsebær, eik, marsipan og lakris. Smaken innfrir sødmefull mørk og fyldig frukt som balanseres av god syre og eike-fast ettersmak. Flott Power-juice. Nykokt saft. Best i Zalto universal sammenlignet med Bx. 2 dager i flaske: Bjørnebær. Flott vin men forsvarer ikke prisen for min del.

Color: dark ruby Nose: fully ripe cherry and sour cherry; some black pepper, just opened baguette, tomato concentrate. Alpine herbs Palate: high acidity, modest tannins, full body. Sour cherry and cherry that is mature, red ribes and raspberry as well. Tobacco and pepper come in afterwards, and there is some plum. In general, a big ride Finish: looooooong
Incredible Barbera. Structure is skyscraper like. Shows some cab characteristics even. Meditation possible, but food recommended

Wonderful dried flower and herb nose opens to cherry mouth and decent finish. Nice Barbera drinking nicely now and even over the next few years.

Satsuma plum, blackberry, cherry, tobacco over fine tannins and balanced acidity. This really comes together well but a bit on the rustic side.

Outstanding Barbera. Even better than Giacomos Vigna Francia. Drank '18 Vigna Francia side by side.
Dark colored barbera. Beautiful tannic structure. Long ripe red fruit, oaky finish.
