Monday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Easily guessed as California pinot noir. The ripe fruit here is quite obvious, and there's a liqueur aspect that pushes the envelope a little bit for me. Sweet and more confected than the other two wines in the lineup (which ended up being Pomarium and Scallop Shelf). High tannins with a discernible alcohol kick. Time would be beneficial.

Well integrated, lots of brown sugar and spice, warm tones to the fruit of with a hint of driftwood. I liked this a good deal and find it ready to drink

Aroma: somewhat reticent blueberry, eucalyptus, minerals and almond blossoms. Palate: rich and complex with a good tension between red fruits and woody, forest-floor notes. Good acidity with a core of sweet fruit. Mineral elements. A touch of creamy vanilla. Nicely balanced. Drinkable now or capable of aging.

Light Pinot noir, nuanced little cherry and positive lively fruit flavor. High acidity and gentle flavor of fresh fruits. Feels like it is mostly destemmed, tannins are non existent. Fresh feel and taste. (Did not aerate or decant; it was served at 58 to 60 degrees)
