PnP and had on its own. Nose has notes of rubber, dried herbs, meaty and smoke with black cherry fruit lurking underneath. Black cherry palate with strong peppery backbone layered with mint and fresh sage. Finish brings layers of smoky fruit with firm oak, a sour cherry note, and a harsh herbal finale. A big, well made wine but wasn't particularly enjoyable to drink on its own - seems to need some food

Decanted 1hr then drank over 2hrs. At its peak at the 2hr post decant. If you follow this the fruit comes up and the tannins soften into velvet in a glass. A lovely refined McLaren Vale shiraz. Will drink 1 per year and report when change.

Balanced McLaren Vale Shiraz. Lacking wow factor but it's well put together. Not too jammy, a nice fresh black and blue fruit compote with a hint of sweet spice and black pepper.

Ripe, roasted red fruit on the nose with alcohol. Good ripe red fruit, cherry, raspberry, currant. Rich, and chewy with solid tannins. It’s good right now, but will probably come together & be better over the next year.

P: Full, but not OTT. Bold, juicy, sweet ripe raspberry, black cherry, sweet plum skins. Very pure fruit. Rich black liquorice earthiness, very green w/fresh stems and green leaves. There is some restraint here.
F: Green, bell pepper, boozy raspberry jam.

Nose: blast of spicy white pepper, macerated cherry, blueberry, sweet tobacco, cinnamon. Jumps out of the glass.
Mouth: Steeped cherry and blueberry puree are pure and fresh, coming through round and juicy as pipe tobacco, rooibos, fresh cut violet and white spice threads stream around. Finish is savory, with a saline edge coming through together with white pepper.
Overall: Beautifully fresh versus the Australian stereotype, with nuanced florals and spice fragrance coming through in equal mix. Not decadent, but complex and distinctive.

Retail $30. Deep, opaque, almost black color with intense blue and black berry fruit, spice, and black pepper on the glass. The palate is uber-fruity, with blackberry and plum predominant. Rich and luscious with little evidence of tannin, this is for the short-term consumption. Enjoy. thedrunkencyclist.com

Intense purple color. Smells deeply of plums and blueberries, topped n black pepper glaze and smoky earth. Medium/full-bodied with a rich textural presence, but the acidity is fresh and balances this out quite nicely, with medium, fine-edged tannins. Blueberry and dark plum fruit blends well with elements of black pepper, soy, barbecue sauce, earth, charred herbs, cocoa and espresso. Opens up nicely with air, this is accessible young but can improve for a few years, too. Classic entry-level Two Hands Shiraz goodness. 13.8% alcohol, aged 14 months in 12% new American oak.

Hard to mistake the nose for something other than an Australian shiraz, it boasts slightly savory aromas of hickory, blueberry, plum, toasty vanilla oak and just a hint of licorice. The bold full body has a core of dense, tight tannins that is not married well at this stage with the bright, juicy acidity. The structure suggests another three years of aging will do this wonders, and drink well over the coming decade. The flavors are bit hidden at the moment, but the palate suggests blueberry, blackberry, cigar tobacco, heavily seasoned leather, plum sauce, something salty and finishes a bit spicy and hot. I'd leave this one alone for a while to see it at its best.

Couldn't pass this up for $20. Drank over 2 days and better and smoother on day 2. Plum, blueberry, vanilla, licorice, bramble, and graphite.

Rough, needs some more time to settle down. Blueberry, vanilla and lots of tannins. Typical Australian monster Shiraz

Blue fruits, vanilla, oak, and the fruit is sweet but not the wine itself.

Surprisingly smooth out of the bottle for a Shiraz, but it's still a Shiraz! Dark, full body. One more bottle, then maybe a case?

Not as enthusiastic as previous tasting note. Smashable slightly chilled. Fruit very sweet in taste (although a dry wine). Fundamentally quite boring.
N: bubblegum confected raspberry, raspberry conserve, sweet snapped green bramble leaves, whole cluster? Perfumed, wild arid garrigue. Intriguing.
