  • Dark crimson, light spicy aroma, cedar, mushroom, dark fruit. Alcohol evident but not overpowering. Blackcurrant, olive, shrubbery. Medium body, fine grainy tannin. Fresh acidity, smooth finish.
    Juicy dark fruity flavour, well balanced. Young wine with a many years ahead.

  • Head Wines Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
    Appearance is clear, very deep opaque intensity, purple colour. Legs.
    Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of cracked black pepper, brooding blackberries, black cherries, black plums. Developing.
    On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.1%), fine high tannin, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh tar asphalt, black licorice, concentrated blackberries, black cherries, black plums, coffeegrounds, cassis. Bitter sweet long finish.
    Very good quality. Deep concentrated and black, but has a certain nod towards cooler clime Northern Rhone Syrah. Ageable with upside potential.
    Actually also contains 10% 100 year old Ancestor vine Grenache.

  • Dark plums, mocha, vanilla & baking spices. Great depth flavour and palate weight. The overall balance of the wine was impeccable with a long lingering finish, with ripe tannins completing the wine. Delicious.
