Huge nose of roasted black cherries, bbq angus beef, cèpes de Bordeaux... Huge concentration, sappy and sweet strawberries, loads of ripe and silky tannin, very delicious.

Enjoyed over two days. First day, ripe dark plum and blackberry fruit, powerful tannins. Second day, the fruit is much more muted, mineral texture, lengthy finish. Not a lot of layers here, but this could come out with age. This wine makes me want to drink more Beaune.

Lightly hued, slender, traditionally styled Burgundy - none of that bright carbonic fruit so many others are going for these days. On the minus side, I found caramel flavors from the oak were absolutely dominant. Hopefully it will integrate but today it was way too much. And while I do appreciate its finesse, it will need to bulk up at least a little bit if it's to match some of the Mouches of the recent past.

No formal notes, but this is a light bodied, red fruited beauty. Zippy and complex at the same time. Great stuff that is fantastic now and with the balance to age for a long time.

Medium ruby red. Layered nuances on the nose with spices, sweet plums, purple flowers and mint chocolate. Concentrate on the palate with medium plus acidity, medium tannins (5.5/10) and a medium plus body. A bit savory on the palate with bacon fat, plums, raspberries and perfumed. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2040.

I have to admit I've never been a particular fan of Drouhin, and this bottle doesn't really do it for me either. The nose is quite pretty, with that tart, crunchy red fruit thing, but seemingly out of place in the 2019 vintage. The palate is quite lean and on the thinner side. This certainly doesn't have the weight and potency of the 2019 Jadot Ursules; it's maybe more delicate to be fair, but lacking in gravitas for what is one of Drouhin's flagship wines.
NIGHT TWO: Bottle has been open 23 hours, it was never decanted, half the bottle was left over-night. This wine was consumed from a Conterno Sensory glass. The nose is harder to define tonight, it's as if everything is there, but it's hard to pick out anything that is singular, what is here tonight on the nose, that was not there last night is a sense of the year & some warmth...in a good way. It's a bit like a warm summer's night as it starts to cool down, there's a lingering sense of warmth, but everything is cooling down. On the palate this has shifted from light medium to medium bodied over night, framed by vibrant fruit & brisk acidity that all harmonizes into a seamless, silky, & elegant finish that begs for another sip. This is a very special wine...well worth seeking out.

Bottle 1 of 8: popped & poured, half the bottle left to check in again on day 2 with 20+ hours being open. There is a lovely purity on the nose & palate. Scents of tomato leaf, forest floor, high-toned red fruits, with a whisper of roses lingers somewhere in the background. On the palate there's a balance between the fruit, tannin, and acidity that indicates a long life is likely with good storage. Next bottle in 2029.

Extreme length, loads of intensity, very ripe red fruits, spices, cedar, plenty of acidity, and loads of very fine tannins.
