Opened up beautifully after an hour decant (strongly suggested). Rich red fruit, tannins softened, balanced by just the right amount of acid. Medium finish. Wish I had a few more in the cellar.

92+ Drinking nicely now, this is showing ripe savory blue and darker fruits with good balance and lengthy finish. Drink now or in the intermediate term. Another nice effort from Benovia.

Medium, dark-ruby color. Expressive aromatics of fig & black cherry, nutmeg, clove & five spice, sandalwood and dried lavender. Open ripeness on the palate, with a succulent edge. Fig and red berries and a core of baking and root spices, hints of mushroom and turned soil. Lean to medium in texture and body, with rounded middle density, snappy acidity, and fine supple tannins, finishing with nice depth and length.

A weekend in Sonoma, Act II-Benovia and Inman (Sonoma County, California, USA): Nose: The nose is deep and savory, filling the glass with raspberries, dark red cherries, plums, herbs, baking spices, violets, roses, crushed rocks, and some earth notes. There is excellent depth with a coolness to the fruit that makes it really enticing.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and youthful, medium+ tannins. The structure is youthful but not too overbearing. The feel is well balanced with raspberries, dark red cherries, plums, herbs, roses, crushed rocks, and some baking spices.
Overall: This could really use at least 3 years and the better part of 5+ to really show itself. There is excellent complexity but it feels just a little coiled up at the moment.

Benovia Tasting Room: Complex and savory aromas - sassafras, braised dates, mineral, allspice and mushroom. Earthy dark fruit on the palate with spice and sandalwood secondary notes. Round middle with good depth. Round fine tannins with very nice succulent length on the finish.

Intense violet color with aromas or ripened raspberry, plum, cigar box, spice and forest floor. Juicy red fruits with spicy white pepper finish.
