  • Deep golden in the glass. Quite subtle on the nose with notes of green apple, pear and peach (but super toned down that you barely recognize). Medium-bodied with medium everything. Nothing exciting, an easily forgettable wine.

  • Medium expressive nose displaying ripe yellow and white fruit, white peach, lychee, yellow peach, honeysuckle, a hint of oak/vanilla, sweet spices and earth. Medium concentration, slightly coiled very ripe yellow fruit, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium long ripe yellow fruit driven finish. There is noticeable heat at the end.

  • Southern Rhône trip with Rainer. Tasted at the Domaine. 35% Roussanne, 30% Grenache Blanc and 5% Clairette. €27. Light lemon colour. Floral notes, citrus, tropical fruit and pleasant (mild) herbal notes, with fresh acidity and solid length. Very floral. Had benefited from better length, but I liked it for its freshness and the floral and citrus notes that added an extra dimension compared to the profile of many other white Châteauneuf-du-Papes. The Roger Sabon wines, red and white, generally were more floral than most CdPs we tasted on this trip. I bought a few bottles.
