A nicely balanced, and easy to drink red Bordeau blend made from 49% Merlot, 26% Cab, 10% Cab Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, & 7% Malbec grapes. Rich fruits, medium bodied, well integrated tannins, and a solid finish make this Cuvee easy to appreciate and enjoy.

This is a delicious Merlot-driven blend. I was struck by the finesse of the texture and how well balanced the wine is. Plenty of years left in the tank but already very enjoyable now.

Consistent with my previous notes with perhaps a bit more integration. This continues to show well, highlighting fresh black and red fruit, violet florals, peppery and cedary spice, medium-bodied elegance, vivacious acidity, round medium-grained tannins and nice depth. Definite old world palate appeal, but doesn't suffer for ripeness or richness. An awesome value at its price.

14.3% ABV 49% Merlot, 26% Cab, 10% Cab Franc, 8% P Verdot, and 7% Malbec. Wonderful Bordeaux blend, good aromatics, dark fruit. Another great wine Mr. Jeffrey!

Deep, opaque, bright, purple-ruby color lightening at the edges. Black cherry and currant aromas, with warm clove and cardamom spices, cedar, leather and tobacco. Generous and elegant on the palate, accessible and open in its fruit, with nice intensity and integration of secondary flavors found on the nose. Broad and round middle palate, hemmed with taut acidity and finishing with juicy pliant tannins and good length. Another excellent bottle of 2016 CVC.

Full purple color with bright ruby edges. Aromas of fresh black currant and plum, with rosemary/thyme herbaceousness, violet, iron, black tea and clove. Richly layered on the palate, showing expressive black fruits and more pronounced clove and cedar notes, offset with savory herb and floral depth. Medium-to-full body with elegant core density, medium acid and full, round tannins. Finishes with nice length of black fruit skin and dried florals. A very classy vintage of this wine, and as always amazing character at its price.

Inviting nose of black pepper, hazelnut, blackberry, and chocolate. Dry salty fruit on the palate with a dense aromatic tannic base converging to a long tannic acid finish. Carries its 14.3% alcohol with impresive muscle. A lovely wine with the depth and complexity of a classical Bordeaux, but with the drive and power of a classical California cabernet.

Bottle opened yesterday, sat on the counter just slow oxing. 49% Merlot, 26% Cab Sauv, 10% Cab Franc, 8% Petite Verdot and 7% Malbec. Round and soft on my palate, with some black cherry and tobacco lead adding a little complexity, finishing with cedar, earth, a loamy kind of note. There is some decent tannin in the wine that adds some grip but overall, this is more rounded on the edges than complex and an easy drinker.

Tasty, and well integrated, just lacking a little depth for me.

Struggling to find why the scores are so high. We get very little flavor and a rough finish. Have two more bottles will definitely review after.

Notes of macerated cherry, spice box, cedar, dried earth. All of this comes together very nicely on the palate. Would pair with beef, lamb, or duck.

Lilacs, dark berries, burnt sugar on the nose, deep penetrating dose of dark fruit on the palate and a powerful layer of welded tannins.
