Very dark and dense. Not a lot of complexity, but rich and intense. Lots of plum, blackberry on the palette with cinnamon cream and mulberry and pepper to finish.
Simple, but pleasant and overbearing.

This wine is often the dark horse of Penfold's in terms of what it offers for the price - and 2018 is a particularly good year for this wine. Outstanding value here. It has all of the house style characteristics offered by the Penfold's juggernaut and for a very fair price. Darker fruits such as plums and blackcurrants mingle with reducrrants and some sour cherry. A sheen of delicious vanilla oak and milk chocolate. Fine mouthcoating tannins and a pretty lengthy finish on the back palate.

This is a cracking wine for the price. Penfolds fans can buy this quite cheaply when buying other wines direct from Penfolds. Retail is about AUD25 and a fair buy at that price. If Bin 389 is "Baby Grange" then is this "Baby 389"? Both the cabernet cassis aromas and the spiciness of the shiraz show themselves. Mild tannins and a proven ability for mid term cellaring.

Dark berries, plums, vanilla oak, milk chocolate, meat, smidge of gum leaf, lick of tannin. Seductive and just enough length. Give this a couple of hours air and it sings.

Тёмно-рубиновый цвет, мутное, непрозрачное. В аромате насыщенный джем, чернослив, шоколад, сливки, корица, животинка, табак. Во вкусе плотное, ягодное, умеренная кислотность, упорядоченные танины. 88/100

Colour: Dark purple
Nose: Brambly berries, black currant, liquorice, milk chocolate, menthol
Palette:Black and red currents, pepper, blackberry, milk chocolate, liquorice, menthol.
Long but slightly greenish finish which will probably disappear with age.
Very rich and improved over the two days it was open.
Look forward to see what it does over the next 5 years or so.
