Nose of cedar, spice, and mocha. Very smooth and mellow; almost lush. Palate has dark fruit, chocolate, eucalyptus, and a touch of leather. Oak is noticeable but well integrated. Tannins also fully integrated. This bottle is in the perfect window for my palate. Very nice wine.

Opened table side at restaurant. Cork broke. Decanted for sediment. Nicely aged bord varietal base wine from WA. Nice mix of fruit n earth. Opened up nicely. Tannins still appreciated. A Winebid purchase, so not sure of provenance.

Popped and poured, consumed over three hours. Youthful red in the glass with purple and the first signs of brown. Nose of blue fruits, with oregano, mint, violets and leather. Boysenberries and blue fruits on the palate, with pipe tobacco, lavender and smoke. Still pretty tannic. Right now, the fruit is holding steady with the tannins. Terrific QPR.

beautiful wine that is aging gracefully. plenty of dark fruit present with some good subtle mineral tones and spice. the mouthfeel is lush and silky, with a strong finish. still plenty of kapow left in this wine. this is a perfect example of andrew will wines.

Drank this bottle before going out for New Years Eve. Very soft on the palate, beautiful flavor and nose with hints of wet loam. Dark crimson coloring. One of the best wines I've ever had.

Still lovely and drinking very well. It has perhaps lost a bit of vibrancy in its fruit compared with its youth, but this is very pleasurable and refined.

Mmmm, upon opening this is very enticing with very leafy aromas, green tobacco, a hint of char, black cherry. On the palate this is tight and somewhat tart, showing racy acidity and a tight core of fruit. DAY 2: The tobacco is still there, but now it is accompanied by aggressive floral notes of violet along with a little heat. The palate is still very bright and racy, taut yet with a nice core of fruit and mineral. After a couple of weeks of French and Californian wines, this is a nice return to Washington and a prototypical example of what the state can do well and uniquely.

Very closed at first, with not much fruit, only a little current shining through following by some toasty oak. After sitting in the glass for a few minutes this opened up nicely. The fruit came alive with more cedar, blackberry, and current. I finished off the bottle the next evening and it impressed me even more, I would upgrade this 2 to 3 points the second day.

Palate has dominant oak with a touch of green. Lush palate that offers good balance until smoky tannic finish. End with an explosive fruity finish. This wine has all the parts but seems closed aromatically. My hunch is that when it opens the green will become more herblike (dill). Points for potential.

(1999 WA Tasting):I could sum up this wine in one word-Blueberries. There were blueberries on the nose and all I got from the mouth was blueberries. This must have been a good thing to me as I gave it 89 points.

It's taking this one a long time to open up. Indicative of the great quality for a nearly 15 year old wine. Very good with some air.

Beautiful wine, subtle cherries and berries with bait of cedar and earth underneath. Lingers in the mouth with a floral hint.
