This has developed very well! Fruit on the nose. Dark berries, pepper, bacon, blood on the palate. A touch of floral elements - maybe due to the Viognier. This really comes close to a very good Cote Rotie!

This is at least the third time I have opened a Desire Lines wine, and been immersed in a vortex of savory. Each time it’s different, but it’s always an experience of intense umami depth. This time it’s Syrah, and rather than just the deep black fruit and red meat, it’s also a feeling as if I am sucking the marrow from the bones of the wine. Sucks that I only bought one bottle of this, as the depth makes me want to know what happens with 5 or 10 more years of age.

Nose of dark cherries, black plum, and raw beef. Sweet black plum palate with coffee, macadamia, very dark chocolate, and rich soil. Medium tannins are supple but bold, riding over a rich soil note and adding some dry purple fruits and a touch of oak.

2 hour decant. Translucent dark crimson, slightly lighter than expected. Cranberry and spice on the nose, and a slight floral-ness. Mouthfeel is lighter than expected too, classic Syrah flavors of fat and olive are There but integrated with some other flavors I get from Shake Ridge a lot, particularly nice blue and black fruit. This is delicious but will wait another two years or so to open my next bottle as it’s best years are still to come.

Purple in color fading to dark garnet on the edges; Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, fig, spice, and earthiness on the nose; tastes of blackberry, tart raspberry, pepper, and violets on the palate; medium(+) body, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannins; 45 second finish. A very attractive and fresh Syrah with bright acidity and great structure.

Really starting to come in to its own. Leather, bacon fat, currants, and black pepper. I'll get the last one another year. Excellent

Just gobs of meaty, gamey cherry goodness but a lovely lifted floral perfume. I continue to be impressed with Syrah from this team.

Less fruit than normally for a Cali wine. Very balanced with licorice, blood and stone. Very enjoyable.
