Young, lots of menthol, spearmint, French oak influence, mouthfeel comes across as overly polished and missing the extract and texture a better Shiraz would have. Surely it will be marginally better in 4-5 years; it’s not giving everything at the moment.

The colour is clear deep purple. The intensity is medium (+). The aromas are black plum, blueberry, blackberry, liquorice, lavender, cedar, vanilla, chard wood, nutmeg, forest floor, mushroom and meat. The wine is developing. The wine is dry. The acidity is medium, the tannins are medium, the body is full. The flavour intensity is medium (+), the finish is long. The flavour are black plum, blueberry, blackberry, lavender, cedar, vanilla, chard wood, nutmeg, and forest floor and meat. The wine is very good. Drink now, but has potential for further aging.
I’m not sure how this will age, the aromas & palate is dominanted by the oak at this stage. Drink another bottle in a year or two.

By the glass. On the nose fruit takes the lead. Aromas of plums, figs, black berries and then impenetrable cedar. Palate showed more monolithic saved for a silky texture and a decent length. Excepting for that complex nose, another concentrated wine from Barrosa.

Appearance: dark black/purple core with purple hues. Quite thick in texture, full-bodied with ample legs Nose: this is quite fragrant, dark fruits: plums, cassis and black cherries come to mind. Some subtle forest floor and black pepper notes also coming through Palate: intense dark fruits flood the palate: cassis, plums, some cedar oak , black pepper and spices ensue. Tannins are very plush and velvety. Finish is long and persistent . This is one very well made and balanced wine. Quite jammy and bold, recommend with red meats

PnP, with primary notes of ripe blackberry, black pepper and black licorice coalescing throughout. Hints of tar emerge on the mildly tannic finish, and there's just enough acidity to keep it moving. Lacks complexity to make it truly great, but this is well-made and an absolute pleasure to drink now.

This wine is quite young and needs lots of time still. Tight, with some solid blackberry at the center, but hiding beneith a lattice of racing tannins. This may be promising in a few years...we'll report back then! Softer on day two, but even with ample air it never really came around.
Immense mouthfeel, with beef bullion, black tea and sage notes. Should age well, but provides no lack of enjoyment at present. A big, bold, dry, and not overly tannic Syrah that takes a couple of hours to open up. Would heartily compliment a grilled steak.

Clearly well made, but lacking character at this stage. A little heavy on the oak for my taste, as well. Has the structure to age, so I will revisit in a few years.

Wow, Aussie Shiraz has come a long way. This shows rich intense balckberry, quite ripe but balanced with good acidity, silky and plush, ripe soft tannins but keeps it all in balance. Clearly a new world Syrah but done well. Paul Sherman Blind Tasting
Far too young. Definite seductive, restrained flavours here which need to develop for a long time to come. At this point nothing outstanding to show & definitely shouldn't be sampled yet. I had a damaged screwcap leaking and was forced to but otherwise resist the temptation. Showing such great promise in that delicatable fruit - can't wait until this has matured!

Many years yet to go. Still plenty of acid and fruit to take it along another 5-10 years.

Colour medium ruby, medium+ pronounced. Youthful. pepper, liquorice, fig, prune. Palate dry, high acidity, medium+ body, pronounced flavour intensity with cooked blackberry, medium finish.

Bold, juicy, and delicious. Aromas of black currant, celery, and caramel. Short finish, with a pleasant bittery 'pop'.

PnP. Very approachable now after about an hour. Suspect it can improve from here. Good example of Barossa without the sweet/jaminess. Very good

Definitely very young. Great earthy after taste. Can’t rate it higher as of yet. Hopefully matures well.

Lovely full, balanced, elegant Barossa shiraz. Beautifully made. Good length. The balance makes it look simple. Will age very well.
