At first whiff, I was worried that this was going to be a one dimensional fruit bomb as the nose smacked of lush blackberry, cassis and jam. It took about 90 minutes, but the nose did yield to the fruit revealing tobacco, tea, olives & violets. On the palette the wine was supple from the get go and clean in its delineation. Cassis & brambly blue & black berry leaning into black licorice and dark chocolate with near perfectly balanced hibiscus & cranberry acidity kicking in about midway to keep the wine from being cloying and then the silky, subtle perfectly integrated tannins kicking in around 3/4 of the way through to give the finish some length and depth. After about an hour, some black tea, olive and salt cured meat started to show through on the finish making the wine even better. Its evolution in the glass over the evening was subtle, and I imagine that the same would hold true in the cellar over the next 2-5 years.

Fresher on the nose than I would have thought. This sounds odd but actually smells like good wine. Like a un-mature Bordeaux that you are just waiting for. Palate holds the same. Drinking great right now.

PNP. Initially a bit harsh but after a hour it’s rounded out to a really nice wine. Great mouthfeel and abundant flavors of various dark berries. It will be good to revisit this in a few years

PnP and the nose reminded me of Easter egg dye, but it went away with a bit of aeration. Now I’m getting dark fruit with a vibrant backbone. On the palate, it’s fruit forward in the front with a dusty hint, then the tannins hit mid palate with a bit of pepper. Nice long finish! Stems up

The quiet and peculiar nose wafts blackberry compote, black plum, baking spice, muddled strawberry, and white pepper. Full bodied, the sides fill up first in the mouth and the center falls into place second. The tannins are dense, broad, and stick to the teeth, while the acid is modest and fits in well. There's serious black tea leaf and pipe tobacco minerality in this wine, which dominates the identifiable flavors of plum, sweet cherry, and black pepper. This really deserves at least five or six years of aging.

A little disjointed out of the bottle. Improves with a little air and food. Very ripe plums. Strong tannins.

Deep purple. Black fruits, strong plum and casis. Some tannins. Nice finish. Like it as a daily drinker. Give it 5 more to soften up.

This is my second go to red blend behind Orin Swift's Machete. Smooth, fruit forward, mild tannins and excellent finish.

Powerful Syrah dominant blend. Peppery and savory nose but dark ripe blueberry, cherry, and blackberries on the palate.
