The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, cranberry, raspberry and toast. It tastes like blackberry, cranberry and raspberry. The body is full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.
Bottled at 16.6% alcohol, probably another point or 2 now. Wine has enough flavor to mask the huge alcohol component wonderfully. Decanted for an hour, drank over 3. No need to rush on this big boy.

CT suggested drinking window end of 2014. I think it may have 3-5 more years. Very strong tannins, dark fruit. I always enjoy the petite sirah influence.

Wineflock - High End California Cabs from the 2000s (Ken's): Flight #3 - Full opaque red/black color. full nose of rich bluberry and a note of heat. Mmmn, nice rich blueberry chocolate on the aplate. Still huge but a little better balanced. I was not familiar with this wine at all, but it was really nice.

Blind High-end Cali Cab Tasting (Ken's Place): Inky black. Full, explosive, layered nose of black fruit, asphalt and herbs. Big, rich and tannic on the palate -- just huge. Rich red fruit, mocha, coffee, chocolate. Creamy massive fruit is well matched with big tannin. Crazy long. Delicious. Groups 3 of 4.

My first bottle of this vintage. This was a wonderful wine. Very balanced - you would not know that this is 16.6% alcohol. Only decanted for about 20 minutes before drinking but didn't need much more than that.

1-2008:The biggest wine in the history of mankind. 3-2012: I revised my score for this wine down from a 95 after recently having a Beringer Private Reserve cab 2001. The Beringer is a classic CA cab- probably the best I've had. The Delectus wasn't really in the same classic league even though it was fun to drink and a great wine.

Very intense and deep red/purple color. Nose is full of red fruit and breaks through the very high alcohol level. Delicious flavors roll through the palate; currant, espresso, spice and herbal tea. Strong beam of smoky oak works well throughout as well. Very well structured and nice complexity.

Still good, but in my view way past it's prime. I'd suggest drinking now.

Decant for one hour. Very good nose and taste. Still has dark color. Medium long and enjoyable aftertaste, with a hint of the petite syrah.

As good as all the other tasting notes say it is. The best cab blend I've had from this vintage.

Deep black and touch of red. Well balanced wet stone. 90 minute decant. Slight unresolved tannins, but not unfriendly. With age will be amazing. 95+!

Very disappointing. Decanted for hour but must still need more time. Strong alcohol presence. Very overpowering.

Tons of flavor, but at 16.6% alcohol... it's a bit hot.
