Improved over the last couple of years. More acidic than many Gigondas. Agree with Poisey comments from 2022 about olive and white pepper flavors. It is bolder & more muscular than most Rhones. In early portion of drinking window which I project to be 2025-39

Complex on cork pull with smoky mesquite, strawberry, sandalwood and green olive notes. Smooth and elegant on the pallet. Medium bodied. Robust finish with an explosion of raspberry and strawberry fruit. Lingering black olive paste and white pepper. Youthful and vibrant. Better in a few years. Drink 2025-2032.

I consumed two bottles of this one last April to June. They were both absolutely terrific. I took this bottle to a restaurant last night, and it was very so-so. These bottles have been well stored. I see some other tasting notes that give the impression that it needs to be opened for at least an hour and a half or decanted. Will try that next time.

I've been enjoying Gigondas wines as a cheaper alternative to Chateauneuf du Pape. Lots of similar flavors. This one needed more time in bottle or a longer decant. Cherry, blackberry, pepper, licorice, violet and thyme.

Ripe black and red fruit on the nose, some oak, leather and mild garrigue. Palate is full of fruit and medium tannins. Finish is medium long & pleasant. Very nice Gigondas at a fair price point.

A tale of two wines here. Day 1: not bad; light and jammy at first open, other than some salinity present this could have a stronger sense of place for a Gigondas. Day 2: more serious now, with dark fruits and spice. In my book this went from barely average to quite a nice expression of Gigondas.

From one of the finer, more consistent producers in the region, this Grenache-Syrah blend from one of the region's top villages expresses the rustic charm of the southern Rhône through a package of finesse and refinement. The aromas and flavours are led by a strong mineral element, mostly iron, as strong as one finds in, say, Coonawarra, but there's also also ample regional authenticity in notes of violet, licorice, garrigue, and black pepper. There's also nice fruit, in the form of blackberry, raspberry, and cherry, but this is a wine where the fruit is more of a secondary consideration -- certainly not a pandering commercial wine, to its credit. The tannins are chalky, the acidity mild, and overall it has a soft feel, easily accessible now, already in its prime even at a relatively young age. The complexity, authenticity, and elegance put it in the 89-90 range, but a lack of depth and power hold it back somewhat.

I have had a lot of Gigondas over the years that outperform their price point. This is one of them. It is drinking very well right now. The bottle was open for about an hour and a half.....no decant. It is a classic deep/dark wine with a lot going on.

Very tannic and muscular. Like many Gigondas, it needs a few more years before it will enter its prime. I think it will be a 92-3 wine once the tannins settle down.

Clear medium ruby; clean medium nose of confected red cherries, bubble gum and soil; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa and smoke; medium plus finish; drink now; unbalanced - acidity and alcohol dominated -thin and astringent

After one so-so bottle, this bottle was back to being very good, like the first two bottles in the case. It is a classic deep/dark/fruity Rhone.

Better than 10 months ago. Less tannic, but still needs more bottle age time to reach peak.

Soft textured, forward, medium-bodied and packed with sweet, ripe, peppery strawberries, kirsch and raspberries. You can enjoy this on release.
