Nose is a bit shut down right now. The taste is a deep wave of black and red fruit followed by a tingly stem infused rising and a long finish carried by ripe fine tannins. Though young, this is in great balance and has impressive quality & depth of fruit. Gonna be tough to resist the other bottles I bought but I bet this will be incredible in 2030.

Nose of chalk, dark red fruit, whole cluster/stemmy, and plums. Pronounced palate of juicy ripe dark fruit, savory umami of soy/mushrooms, plums, dark cherries, bay leaf, slight saline note. Med/+ tannins, but showing plush/resolved, med/+ acid. Very silky and voluptuous, showing tons of ripe but balanced fruit, smooth and just a gorgeous wine. Still really young (mostly primary fruit), but hard to resist drinking when its showing so well. Probably will need another 5 years before tertiary notes begin showing. 95-96

Paired with pheasant. This poured very closed and austere but sprang to life after an hour of air. Very concentrated fruit across the blue, red and black spectrum (peacock’s tail). 20 second finish. Hints of emerging secondary musky tones. Not ethereal or wispy, more like gevrey than chambolle, but beautiful and harmonious, nonetheless. Borderline hedonistic. Drink now with air for pleasure or wait several years for more nuances to emerge. 94-95+

Grandiose, Là on ne se demande plus pourquoi la Combe d'Orveaux à failli être classée en 1er cru dans les Musigny. C'est une évidence sidérante. En tout cas au niveau des meilleures Amoureuses 2018 et 2019, voir plus. 97-99/100.

A mini vertical (2017-2021) of this sublime Combe d'Orveaux which is often superior (and always less expensive) than more prestigious names).
1) 2018 98
2) 2019-2020 97
4) 2021 95-96
5) 2017 94

Gorgeous! We confused it with a Musigny in blind tasting

On Coravin: first night, angular and all elbows.
Day 2: Rich dark ripe berry and plum fruit.Nice med. tannic grip, some gunflint reduction there. Low-med acid. 13% Alc on label (how, in 2018?).
What a difference a day makes. Really like this. 93-94 for me now, but 95+ potential with time.

Heavy legs, deep red. Pretty floral and dark berry perfume. Silky texture and great length to the finish.

High Acidity, Bombing Aroma but should be needed long time.

Domaine Visit-Bruno Clavelier's 2018 Vintage (Vosne-Romanée, France): Barrel sample. Deeper than the Noirots. Licorice and spice. Quite ripe feel, but subtle red fruit. Only average acidity, but an impressively long, soil-inflected finish.
