Generous Bonnes Mares fruit...nose advanced, but palate still very fresh. Definitely in its drinking window if not at peak. Still ample acidity to support ripe Grand Cru depth. Everything working in harmony. Wouldn't wait too much longer.

Certainly modern, but not offensively so. Ripe, extracted, and silky smooth. Very approachable for a '98 Bonnes Mares, but I guess that is the intent. Drink now.

Subtle and delicate bouquet with ripe fruit and slight hint of spice. Soft rounded taninm, medium bodied, cherry and berry liquoral, with some spices, almost resemble the taste of Chateauneuf-du-pape, only a CDP will have more spices and more earthy. Not a single sign of a burgundy not to mention the quality of a grand cru. Definitely will be fooled by this and pronounce it a CDP or a lesser southern Rhone with similar blend, should it were a blind tasting.

Nice biting acidity. Wonderful nose, but losing something on the palate. Maybe best to finish drinking these pretty soon.

Pleasantly brambly. Good, but not extraordinary.
