Deep dark red. Decanted for an hour and then poured through venturi. Lots of floral notes in the nose, weird but I also sense playdough, which actually is a nice nostalgic smell from childhood. Rich tasting wine. Cherry, raisin, black pepper. Long finish. Very enjoyable and worth every penny.

Matured in French oak and bottled for 5 years, Aromas of plums, blueberries and figs. Flavors of spice and clove. Deep red wine that has held up well with age and is very smooth.

An easy afternoon with close friends (@ PdV): In the bouquet red berries, herbs and spices, some smoke and oak. Intense bouquet. Same impressions on the palate, dark berries, plums, chocolate and firm but good acidity. Beautiful wine.

The nose is prominently tobacco with notes of vanilla and blueberry. The nose is VERY inviting. It tastes like red currant, tobacco, vanilla and lingering cherry on the finish. Elevated acidity, which makes it good food pairing wine. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle.

Drank blind at our Xtremo tasting. I had a cold so had trouble IDing aspects of this wine. The wine shows its age and many guessed correctly in this regard. Tobacco notes on the nose. Tart sour black cherry on the palate. Fairly high acid, somewhat tannic, and a bit hot. On the lean side tasting-wise, so old world derivation was apparent to all. Pleasantly long finish. Decent table wine, if somewhat one-dimensional

Short decant. Dark garnet in color. Nose: Blueberry, plum, bramble, leather, tobacco, smoked American oak spices. If I smelled this blind, I would think this was a Ridge wine. Medium-light bodied, lean extraction, high acidity, and less tannic than expected. Blueberry, blackberry, plum, a bit of lemon, and a hint of leather on the palate. Smooth light tannins. Medium short finish that veers heavy into citrus, clove, and leather.
Paired great with spicy Spanish sausage and Manchego cheese. Oak is well integrated, probably could use a few more years of aging to gain some depth. Compared to my notes on the 2010, this is lean and not as complex. I still hold by my view that I could have mistaken this for bottle of Ridge.

Medium ruby, garnet highlights. Aromas of smoked plum and black cherry, secondary licorice, vanilla, fresh violet, allspice. Ripe dark fruit on the palate, open and expressive with just a hint of balsamic, over layers of sandalwood, clove and vanilla bean. Medium-bodied, round and elegant through the middle, with taut acid integration and juicy ripe tannin, finishing with moderate length of high toned dark fruit. Showing well.

Maintenant à40$!

I think I rather agree with Oliverl1's recent note. This is very youthful and really needs time to got beyond a rather glossy, polished, international style. The jury is out for me.

Fantastic wine: great complexity, especially given the price point. Cherry, plum, sous bois, leather. Will buy again.

Too young. Decanted 5 hours and still very one-dimensional. Reasonably enjoyable, but the 2011 is readily available and much better right now.
