This is the 17th bottle of Sequoia that we have drunk every fall to celebrate the day our offer on our lake house in Maine was accepted. We were enjoying a 2002 Sequoia when the call came in. A perfect 75 degree fall day today on our dock toasting our good fortunes. Cheers!

Another solid vintage of this Napa favorite. Cabernet Sauvignon (86%), Cabernet Franc (7%), Merlot (5%) and 1% each of Petite Verdot and Malbec. Dark ruby color. Very busy aromas and flavors of blackberry, black currant, black cherry, violets, sweet spices, cocoa, cedar and minerals. Ripe, firm and round on the pallet but the tannins are smooth and silky. Long and velvety finish with outstanding balance. Great value for Napa Cabernet!

Drank the rest of the open bottle. Fruity nose with hints of raspberry. Drank with fish tacos and bowls from Dock Local. It’s good. For the price point, it’s worth it, but it’s close.

Smells a little jammy upon opening. Probably too young to drink. We used a Coravin and drank with some frozen dinners on a random Sunday night. Smooth drinking, but not particularly complex or depth of flavor. Good for the price point. Hints of dark cherry. Opens up after about 30 minutes and the jammyness fades.

Sequoia Grove doesn’t disappoint. Solid wine. Still young for sure, so definite fruit forward taste and nose. Drank on a random Wednesday night after work. No food and was great.

Very drinkable for a ready to drink cab. Not too fruit forward, much less so than the Craig. Taste of black cherry, baking spices, match box. Fruit forward, a little sharp. Could use a year or so in the bottle.

Lots of dark fruit with notes of coffee/espresso. Extremely tannic. Still a good QPR but I guess 2017 shows itself with this vintage as I enjoyed the 2015 and 2016 much more.

Wow, this is very nice. Heard so much concern about the 2017 CS vintage of from Napa/Sonoma. So far, I’ve had a few and I believe the concerns are unfounded.
A very deep, rich and smooth aroma. The taste follows along... big and rich, but smooth and soft. Dark black and blue fruit, vanilla, caramel and figs. Nice dusty tannins, medium acidity, great balance with a nice long finish. Built for the long haul, but fresh and delicious now! 😋
Had this with grilled Italian Sausage and a variety of savory mustards and it was terrific!!!
Solid wine that we enjoyed at Stoney River in Troy, MI. Decanted, but this still needs another couple of years which would add a point or two, no doubt. Everyone enjoyed it, though and we went for a 2nd bottle. It’s a buy.

Silky and elegant, a Bordeaux blend (Cab S, Cab F, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot) that displays gracefulness and grip. Flavors of plum, cherry, and currant that comes across more red than black, bell pepper, and peppercorn on the drying finish. Easy to drink with no real rough edges. Perhaps a bit understated for those seeking a bigger CA Meritage?

Excellent. Minimal aroma, but lots of nice black fruit. Solid wine that will benefit from more years in the bottle!
