Not outstanding, but definitely acceptable for the price and pairing with pizza. Dark fruits, a little spice, medium body, but not interesting on the nose.

Nose has a lot of fruit: dark plum, almost prune. Palate confirms, with balanced acid/tannin. Not very much spice, especially compared to the Toro I had most recently.
I've had this several times now, but only took notes once for the 2015. This bottle doesn't have the leather or anise that I tasted in that one. On the other hand, this one doesn't have the sour moments of the 2015.
Day 2 is fine, but no new development.

Almost opaque deep purple color, dark fruit on nose, medium body, somewhat flat tasting, some fruit on finish. I don't like this wine because of the flat taste.

Great value Zin, with tons of character. Initially served a little too warm, and the alcohol was evident. After a brief chill, it came into much better focus as a wine with decent tannins, robust acidity, and generous spicy, brambly fruit. Disappeared quickly, and definitely exceeded expectations.

Served room temp with stuffed Bell Peppers. Dusky red in glass. Red raspberry on the nose and fruity on the palate. Medium body, seemed not very 'Zinny," almost bland. Unexceptional I thought.
Finished bottle following evening with Beef Ravioli & was quite pleasantly surprised! Hearty, smooth and noticeable, but subdued tannins. Well-rounded with a nice feel in the mouth. Spouse Endorsed! 87 Pts. Will buy again.

Licorice and something weird up front but essentially no mid palate and no finish to speak of. Tried again on day two but no better. The search for an ok $10 Zin remains elusive....

A nice balance, but not real spicy like many Zinfandels.

Very fruit forward. Black cherry and plums. A bit of sweetness on the palate. This will be a party pleaser. Decent BBQ quaff.

More liquor taste than wine. Not bad though.
