Last bottle of a case that I purchased from Garagiste. I didn't like this at all at first and never thought it would come around. It hung around in a neglected portion of the cellar reserved for those sorts of items. Not good enough to drink. Not good enough to gift or donate. Then one days I tried one a few years back and by God, I liked it. Not great, but not bad. Drinkable on a weeknight when you're looking for a Pinot to accompany dinner. This was the last in a string of 4 that all have fairly similar notes. Light color. Pale red fruit, strawberries in the nose and mouth. Acid in check. With so much wine out there that is more approachable in youth and so little cellar space available, not sure I'd pop for something this simple that took so long to come around.

I'm stunned to say this, but this really turned out nicely. Well integrated, Soft fleshy red fruit driven favors and no excessive acid (and I'm an acid-phobe). Moderate finish. Nothing spectacular, but very pleasing.

Still nothing special, and it doesn't seem to hold great promise, IMO. Who knows -- wait some years and see what happens? Choke it down now? Based on this half case, so far in its life, Rimmerman missed the boat on this one, and I'm not a Claude N. fan.

Sour cherry and mineral character. Very tart medium-length finish with soft tannins. Too acidic to drink on its own, but a versatile food accompaniment.

Solid lower end Burgundy here. Got some nice secondary complexities on the nose next to it's fruit. A bit perfumed showing some of that iron. More palate weight than many low end Burgs show with nice length lended by strong acidity bright at the finish. Expected less than I got. A very nice dinner wine. Showed prominent oxidation on the second night though it was far from done. This should go a few more years and could even improve a tick. I wouldn't want to age this real long though. Nice.

13%. Dull red; faded rim with slight brownish tinge. Uh-oh. Lean, faintly oxidized. Air time did not bring out much fruit. Thin and tart. This bottle is over the hill; should've opened this shortly after my first bottle. Down the sink.

Perfectly ok but not memorable Burgundy, with raspberry and earth notes. A bit of acetone and high-toned cranberry, which calmed down after a while. Acidity slightly out of wack to my palate.

I probably paid too much for this thing, but it's become the best it's going to be, at least; slight cherry fruit left, good acidic bite; only for Burg afficianados

fine for what it is, the fruit is just not matching the structure, but it presents itself with a true burg terrior and in itself drinkable especially with food.

all 3 decided they couldn't finish their glass and will cook with the rest. The first review on this wine was accurate and it has not developed with age as I had hoped. This is one of the great Garagiste disappointments. Not because one expects great Burgs at this price point, but this isn't drinkable.

This one never developed any secondary character. When you taste the wine it is just plain wine. Blind I think you would be hard pressed to pick the grape. Fine to drink but nothing special.

Much nicer than 2 years ago. Clear, pure cherry-tinged fruit. Lovely med-light body. Just such a a pleasure. No rush on remaining bottles, but very nice right now.

I was a little worried about this wine when I tried my first bottle of 2 cases. A little time has served it well, his wine is really starting to sing. It's not an intellectual wine per se, but I wouldn't call it a quaffer either. Cherry and earth on the nose, the palate has become rounder, less astringent and the fruit has finally come to the party, (above the acid.) There is also a great earthiness and mineral note to this wine. No hurry to drink up but it's definitely in a good place right now. This is a great wine for the price.

Wow, this is coming along nicely - a very nice wine for the price. Crunchy fruit on the attack, respectable middle and moderate to longish finish. The fruit is not bright or sharp, more meaty. Quite smooth and nicely balanced - no rough edges. This is not a big wine. This is to Burgundy as the Rhy's/Alesia San Mateo is to Cali. Pinot - superb value for the price! (I only wish they wouldn't have used synthetic corks.

This is a very very light pinot. Totally old world although not a lot of funk. It did have some bricking like another taster noted but no real sign it was aged to the taste or smell. Good with mild fish like the grilled korean halibut/bok choy/ brown rice we paired it.

Tightly wound and not much fruit underneath, but shines with food; finish getting longer; I wouldn't bet that it will turn into something wonderful, but it's a v. good light red food wine right now

Light bodied; initially spoiled Hi C fruit punch nose, then settling to bacon fat, cinnamon and rhubarb. Light to moderate stemmy tannins with strong acidic mid palate. Abrupt finish.

Probably didn't give this bottle a proper chance. We opened it at a party where we had already had a couple glasses each of nice Alex Valley P.N... Gave it almost no time to breath. It was acidic and sharp, and I thought more Rhone than Burg. Not ideal tasting conditions, but it was not a big hit to say the least. Will give the other two at least until 2010 to soften a bit.

Well... this is much better than my last bottle. I do believe my last bottle was tasted too soon after delivery and perhaps suffered some travel shock. This sample was much more open, with scents of rose petals and crushed pebbles. Some lovely dusty red cherries poke through on the palate, with some wonderful mineral notes on the back end. Refreshing acidity. Still a bit on the bright side, with more bones than flesh, but still somewhat attractive... the Kate Moss of Hautes-Côtes de Beaune?

Extremely well balanced and structured haut/village level Burgundy. Should loosen up over the medium term, but with perfect acidity, soft texture, tasty midpalate of cherries and earth, and tarry nose, it'll tough to keep my hands off. 88+

V. interesting wine; v. tightly wound, with good structure, yet the wine also has a softness on its lingering finish; good acidity makes it a fine food wine, and it seems to have the stuffing to last -- but it's also quite appealing now, especially if the preference is for substantive mid-palate flavors; not sure I'd pick this as a Burg if I didn't know, or even a pinot; syrah, maybe, but it's NOT a CA pinot syrah at all; the finish is Burgundian, but that's about it, which might be why this could be a wine in its infancy...

A little funky on the nose -- mostly blew off to nice red fruits, but maintained a little bit of mineral/medicinal smell. In the mouth there is a lot going on -- fairly high acidity, good red fruit and strong minerality. Interesting today, could become very good in the future.

Very closed and hard. Extremely acidic, with not much fruit (or anything else) coming through. Vigorously decanted for 3 hours, which helped. Hopefully this will improve on the next day. Update... second day saw some cinnamon spice and earth flavors emerge... not much pleasure here. Hopefully this will be better the third day. On the third day this was losing whatever sliver of fruit it had. Very tannic and acidic... too hard.

Nice basic Burgundy. A bit hard and acidic, with a predominant cherry element on opening. With several hours air it improved as it opened and softened, becoming more round without losing it's essential acidity. Remaining bottles can rest for awhile.
