Two years since previous notes, mostly the same. Paired with pizza, short decant. This wine blew away the 2020 Booker Vertigo consumed alongside it (similar blends). Good precision and balance.

Really great stuff, clearly has many years left. A step below a 2016 Booker GSM had recently but the style was a little different so easily just a personal preference thing.

Two years since my last bottle and this had aged well. Pop and pour. Cherries, tobacco, and alcohol on the nose. Tea and black cherries on the palate with a touch of pepper. The edges are still a little rough. Given the change from two years ago, this should continue to integrate and mellow a bit.

Double decanted. Black and blue fruits, spices, black pepper. Smooth, coating mouthfeel. Full bodied and balanced with grainy tannins. Opens up with long decant.

Delicious wine with interest and balance. Nose of spice, currant, smoked pork fat. Elevating palate; nice spice and acidity. Nice finish. Torrin never disappoints!

Initial aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and smoky earth evolve into brighter plum, lilac, and black pepper on the palate. A large vanilla aspect as the wine opens up from new oak dominates along with tannin, medium acid, and huge body from 16.2% alcohol.

Beautiful nose of blueberry compote, raspberry with a palate to follow. A bit shallower body than previous vintages but still brings tons of fruit. Finish is moderate with a bit of underbrush, 93-94. Expect this to improve with an other few years in the bottle

No rating on this bottle because the wine isn't ready for a pop and pour. Closed and disjointed. What flavors were present were heavy towards earth, herbs, and spice over fruit, but this wine needs a decent decant if opening now. Hold.
The 2017 Torrin "The Banshee" features wonderfully pure blue fruit, sweet cassis, herbs, and cedar. Very sensual mouthfeel with smooth polished tannins. You can drink this now with a 2 hour decant. This has been one of my favorite Syrah blends for the 2017 vintage.

Method: tasted small pour at winery; opened 24ish hours prior; red wine glass
Nose: raspberry, flowers, blackberry
Palate: fresh herbs, dried herbs, bay leaf, pepper, blackberry, dry earth; long finish of herbs, leather, pepper; bone dry; med+(maybe full-) body; med+ rough-ish but finer tannin, with a nice silky mouthfeel underneath; med+ acidity
Overall: This is probably my favorite Torrin cuvee. It's a bit brighter and more approachable young this year compared to last. It's excellent, with great concentration and structure, yet finesse and elegance. I LOVE the savory/herbal notes. I know this is 16.2% or so ABV, but it just doesn't feel completely full or heavy to me. Maybe it's the brightness or great balance that makes it seem a bit lighter in my mouth than I'd expect from such a high ABV wine.

Tasted at the winery after being opened for 24 hours. This wine really packed a punch and was the wine of the Paso trip. Lots of dark red fruit with a lasting finish.

From Coravin: Dark purple in color, and smooth as silk on the palate. Many different flavors with dark licorice and tart cherry predominant. Stunner.
October 9 - second glass. Licorice is more pronounced. Mouthful of flavors is intense.

Favorite winery for some time now and bummed to get a corked bottle. Tried it against a second bottle- which was amazing as usual.

Ripe fruit, vanilla, herbs, flowers. Less lift and more bitter than Maven. May benefit from further aging though. At tasting room with Toni.
