Big name Cali Pinot producer. Not sure why anyone would throw $50 away on a wine like this. Very pedestrian tasting with some cherry and oak on a rather thin presentation.

More earthy notes up front. not as aromatic as the Tobioni vineyards pinot. Leather and tobacco Richer mouthfeel medium body darker fruits much more savory.

Dark garnet. Tastes of dark cherry, thyme, and a bit of earth and leather. Very good RRV Pinot. The style is a bit too fruit focused for my taste, but Gary Farrell is a top producer if you like the RRV style.

Really nice expression of this location, with sour cherries, thyme, and a floral note leading the way. On night 2 notes of boysenberry, orange peel, and leather added to the harmony.

The Third Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir (My House, Houston, TX): Retail $55. Mostly flint and smoke with strawberry and cherry lurking behind. Tart, really tart cherry on the palate, initially, it is rather subtle, but not by the mid-palate. Wow, that’s tart. By the finish? It’s full-blown under-ripe cherry, but you know what? I like on it. After this opened a bit and I had another chance to try it? Pretty close to amazing. Make sure to offer a healthy decant here. Excellent. 92 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

I’ve had better bottles of this wine. First of the 2017 vintage.

Really nice Pinot. Great with or without food. Has a very elegant, sophisticated, balanced flavor profile.
