Excellent wine. Still needed decanting for both sediment and opening the back end of its tannic structure. After 90 minutes open the secondary nuances were balancing the fruit, which is still dark, supple and round fruit.

An 11 year old CA Cab that drank more like a bordeaux. Well rounded finish and nose was still spritely and youthful. Aged dark fruits and currants that finished smoothly.

Tasted for Andrew O'Brien's 50th after the 66 Ducru. Think the drinking window could be extended on this one. Plenty of structure and tannins left. Wonderful tasting at this point in its life

Dark garnet colored, medium-full bodied, at eleven years, the complex Spring Mountain bright forward fruit flavors of cherry, black berry and black currant are giving way to a layer of cassis, tobacco, black tea and hints of dark chocolate and dried herbs with a refined tannin finish.
Delicious wine. Needed decanting and at least thirty minutes to open although much better at an hour open. Still never opened with the full fruit that I expected. Tannins are not totally integrated or round.

One of Honey Bunny's favorites. Cherry and dark fruits with great body and solid finish. Had with cheese and bread, and wine is just as good with a great steak. The finish was longer, and as it decanted the improved and really showed well

This is really nice. Give it another few years yet. Wish I had bought more thatn two bottles. Big fruit with enough backbone to balance it out. A few more years will give the finish more time to mature.

This is nice but still has a preponderance of wood that was offputting. This wine has 5 years of life at least. I think it's not worth drinking for another 3 at least. Infanticide.

this was really good - served with several other high end napa cabs and this stood out. rich and full with tamed tannins and long finish. subtle oak, cassis.

Really nice showing again, I continue to be impressed with how this wine outshines better known '04 Cabs including SLW's "The Leap" which followed it on this particular evening. I think preceding tasting notes cover its enticing darker berry flavor portfolio well - my incremental takeaway is that this wine currently features really lively fruit while maintaining good balance.

Barrel Taste Sample. Big Spring Mountain Fruit flavors on the nose with lovely integrated tannins and ripe fruit. This should prove to be an excellent vintage and this wine will end up being very good (91 to 93 pts).

Very complex, lighter fruity flavors. Very nice when opened. Mellowed when decanted. Not as good 2 nd day.

Nice entry with medium dark fruits, disjointed mid palate, spicy finish. Probably needs a bit more time to come together.

Smooth, elegant, polished, sophisticated cab - spicy currant, black cherry, berry and a hint of mocha and anise on the fine tannin finish.

Binny's California Night (Binny's, Highland Park IL): nose: bold and rich nose of red and black cherries, creme de cassis, and slight hints of oak. Great depth and pure fruit that is well layered
taste: great medium feel with dark cranberries, red and black cherries, with sweet tones of creme de cassis
overall: an outstanding wine that is beautifully plush on the palate. Well rounded with a smooth dark cranberry attack and a cassis finish
