Lemon and lemon curd with a nice richness and weight from it’s age. Mature fruit, but still so bright and minerally that it’s easily fresh. So good now, better than when last tasted almost 15 years ago.

Bought at auction recently and the wine showed spectacularly. Adolescent riesling flavors with some baking spices and mellow sweetness. Smoking good- looking forward to the remainder of the 6pack.

Golden color. Nose of petrol, lychee and rose petal. In the mouth it was of a burnt (but very pleasant) sugar. Intense. Tasted much more like a Spatlese than a Kabinett level wine.

Pale golden color. This is very evolved aromatically - lots of lemon curd and nutmeg on the nose. Medium bodied - I really like the palate weight of this. Off off-dry - I guess pretty dry by recent vintage standards. Lemon pie, some sweet yellow peppers and tangerines. Great freshness and medium plus finish. Extremely easy to drink.

The nose shows lime blossoms and wet slate. The palate is fairly lush for a Kab. It has a strong acidic streak. The flavors all follow that streak. I find grapefruit, lime, and lime peel. The finish is long and acidic. It verges on becoming astringent but never gets there. This wine lacks great complexity or focus, but it is a refreshing enjoyable wine. I like this better than the last time.

This wine lacks the depth or power of some of the 02 Kabs, but it may be more fitting of the Pradikat. Unfortunately, this wine lacks adequate precision and focus as well. The nose reveals minerality and lime blossoms. The palate is very well balanced though a touch short. It shows additional minerality and lemon. All and all a pleasant drink that paired well with grilled Dungeness crab. This note was taken after 2 hours of air. From memory it showed a bit more depth and precision after 20 minutes.

Hints of lemon and lime with some interesting youthful effervescence. Very elongating acidity and minerality come through on finish. Great value wine. Should hold well for a decade.

Even better than the bottles from 2 years ago. Still going strong. Pleasant surprise.

Has aged well. Vibrant acid has softened a bit and developed some complexity. Better wine than I predicted a decade ago.

Consumed with Thai food. Less racy than the last bottle, but excellent nonetheless. Grapefruit zest.

Well this is one of the first 2001 Kabinett's I've delved into. Drank with some Indian food.
Drinking fine right now.

bunch of apple, but a kind of wattery finish. A little sweet for my tastes in a Kabinett
