Young but very promising. Upfront resiny dill and coconut from American oak... gave me Rioja vibes. The red cherry fruit didn't detract too much from that impression either. With air, the oak integrates and the cherry and blackcurrant flavors become more prominent. Body is medium, with a silky texture. Tannins are soft but present. Another subtle, red fruited wine deep in the Ridge style.

Wonderful wine. Agree it will age well for years and with the comparison to French wines. You all holding this wine will be well rewarded.
Medium bodied, delightful red and black fruit. Some acidity, Being from Michigan, I'm tasting some Traverse City cherries. Long finish - an elegant wine
Compared to many heavy CA cabs , the price point is off the charts,

Amazingly balanced, delicate & complex with a long, fruitful and strong finish. Just not quite rising to the strength of a perfect wine but it was perfect in the context of the night.

The wine has evolved in the last 12 months. Structured, medium+ weight on the palate, good tannin, notes of cherries, brambly and enjoyable with grilled lamb chops.

Checking back in on this and it remains overly-marked by American oak, even compared to other young Ridge CS and Merlot. Less fruit than earlier in the year, and it's really awkward now. Opened it with some cheaper bottles for my family, and this was the bottle that was most full at the end of the night.

This isn’t close to ready for prime time, but enjoyable. Not much fruit on the nose. I get dirt and just overall earthiness. Medium body with firm tannins (that are enjoyable and will improve) and good acidity, this clearly has the structure to age for a number of years. Lots of black fruit on the palate with a long finish. I wanna say that this tastes like a Bordeaux and not a Cali fruit bomb, but it feels odd to say that given that it’s 100% cab. I won’t touch my other bottle for a decade maybe?

This was exactly what i love in Ridge. The only downside is a hit of coconut up front like a lot of recent Ridge wines - seriously, Ridge, why did you start seasoning your barrels less? - but other than that this is a vibrantly fruity, deceptively concentrated, medium bodied wine that has the finest tannins and super length. This is what CA cab should be - fruit without weight. Brilliant.

Tasted as part of the ‘Mountain Bordeaux’ virtual tasting of wineries from the Santa Cruz Mountains. My favorite of the three wines. Decanted for 2 hrs. Drinking well now but I think this will improve/evolve as the oak integrates with the bold dark fruit flavors.

Popped and poured courtesy of tlv. The vineyard sits at the base of the Monte Bello ridge at about 1,500 feet of elevation. Opens with a note of brown sugar, followed by black fruit, caramel and violets. Medium-bodied with firm tannins and flavors of black fruit and plum, along with more of the carmel and brown sugar elements and just a hint of chocolate. Picks up a sappy herbal quality in the finish. Needs some time.

Drank as part of a “Mountain Collection” virtual tasting, and this was the winner. Classic in style, but still rich and plush. I would marry this wine and start a long and beautiful life with it.

Day 1 was PnP, very closed (my bad!), Day 2 decanted 4+ hrs, way better and really showed its stuff.

Medium-bodied, fruit-focused wine. Not jammy or extracted, but slightly short in length.

Quite approachable now, more so than even their estate wine. Medium bodied with a medium finish. Quintessential Ridge fruit and oak.
