Initially all musty and cedar, but it blew off after about 90 minutes to reveal fairly classic dark Cabernet fruit. Not hugely complex or large scaled, but very appealing and attractive. 89.

Full nose, dark fruit, coffee and some toasty note, quite a lot of oak initially, touch of tobacco LOts of ripe fruit, even a little syrupy, and toasty. Tastes very luxurious and polished. Lacks a little in the middle. Towards the end of the bottle the oak seems to blow off and some nice perfume, pencil shaving etc came through. Showing some signs of maturity but plenty of fruit left. Never going to be a great but decant and it's pretty good

Fairly uninspiring stuff that kind of shuffles through the motions. Technically well made but doesn't really offer anything other than a generic Bordeaux palate.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed in this wine, though it is fairly solid. The second label fo Ducru-Beaucaillou, the fruit is full, dark enough, mainly red fruit nose with a smoked ham component, like a black forest ham rind over red cherry fruit. Other than that not much earth coming through. Deep enough to make an impression, clean, ample enough, but nothing interesting going on here. Would pass for the price next time. Other Bordeaux are more interesting at this level. Well-made just not enough "dirt" in it for me.

Opened up after decanting 2 hours. Better than the last bottle but not an exceptional wine. Part pair with food. Will hold to day2

Slightly angular with robust tannins. Fruit is largely hidden but pleasant nose with red cherry and pencil shavings. Still too young perhaps

Pas pris de notes de dégustation. Bon vin, bien fait, rien de trop excitant.
