Almost exactly three years later, and I’ll stick with my previous note. Except today I’m on my screen porch eating some pizza and drinking this wine. Took this on the boat, but didn’t open it until we got home and ordered pizza.

Color? What color? At an angle, at times, a faint peach can be seen. And while I may be exaggerating a touch, the wine is the palest of peach. Having no recollection of trying a Ridge rosé previously, I wasn’t certain of what I might be in for. The answer is a definite delicious surprise. The first taste is of watermelon, dusty rose, and chalk, lots of chalk that makes for an exquisite dryness that is a refreshing change from those rosés that have a hint of RS. As the wine opens, strawberry notes intermingle with the watermelon. On the second day, the strawberry is more dominate than the watermelon. 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, 10% Zinfandel, 5% Counoise, 5% Black Malvoisie. 12.6% alc. Without food, by the terrace fireplace. 03.18&19.23. Recommended.

Friday Night Brown Bagger (Eagle Brook CC): Served double blind to the group. I know this is a light rose but in the soft restaurant light this almost looks as if it could be an older white wine. Rose petal, strawberry and floral notes. Flavors of strawberry and mineral. Nice.

This is one of those bottles that I don’t want to post about, because it will make it more difficult to find. This wine has become our go-to with sushi replacing bubbly (don’t tell schramsberg). Amazing rose (never thought I would write that). Very dry and not overly sweet. We continue to enjoy this. Wish we had more.
One of my favorite rose's. Has an off color, more straw yellow than pink. Very dry, medium bodied and just well balanced. Wish I could find more of it.

One of the more serious rosés I’ve had. The high quality of the grape blend come through. Nice strawberry undertones. Really opened up as it warmed a touch in the glass. Perfect wine for a relaxing afternoon/evening at the shore.

Drink when eating something with garlic, really brings out a strong watermelon flavor. Wine by itself is very acidic, needs food to be fully enjoyed. When paired with something it is truly great rose.

The 2019 Ridge Lytton Estate Rose is typically sold at the Geyserville winery. Thanks to COVID-19, the mailing list got allocations this year. It has a 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre base which makes this quite a bit more serious of a Rose than most from California. However, drink this quickly. After 2 hours it had largely faded.

Opened with pizza at April's house. Pale pink/orange color. A touch of red fruits and very nice acidity. This will be good on the deck or boat this summer.

Enjoyed on the patio at the club to celebrate things beginning to open back up. Very pale color. Melon and strawberry notes, along with spiced pear and florals. Very pretty. Minerally on the palate, with stone fruit and pear. There's a slight tinny element at first that I found a little distracting, but the fruit soon takes over. Very nice, if not a particularly great value at its price point.

What can I say, I sure hope Ridge makes this rose wine an annual event: their first ever rose and it is spectacular! Had this with shrimp and andouille sausage jambalaya. I would order more if Ridge didn't have a 6 bottle per customer limit.

Easy drinking wine that worked as an aperitif before diner instead of a white wine.

Served with camembert & crackers along with gaia melon wrapped in prosciutto. Lovely rose that goes even better with a hot meal.
