This bottle over delivered. If you can find it for sub $40 buy it. My only wish is that I had more in the cellar. Holding my last for a few more years, no hurry.

Clear red tending towards purple. Intense nose, dark stonefruit and cedar. Fairly tannic but smooth and integrated. Out of bottle, a little tight, but opens at midpalate with a longish and perfect finish. Plenty of aging potential. I note that the cork was dry and crubly at the top but in fine condition 1/3 down with no apparent ill effect.

DJDEVLIN nailed it with his review of about 9 months ago. I bought 4 bottles, also from a flash site, but paid $26. A crowd pleasing wine, good for a party.

Alcohol and blackberry with plum on the nose. Palate is very fruit forward with blackberry, black plum and some boysenberry compote. Med+ acidity and low tannin. Medium length fruity finish. Very simple flavor profile with lots of fruity character. The oak has not integrated well and there is a touch of residual sugar. Too much fruit to pair well with the home-made Pepperoni pizza we paired it with. A cocktail wine through and through. The good acidity saves the day here. Decent QPR for a Napa Chiles Valley Cab at the $20/btl paid for a half case from a flash site. Could be a better drinking experience in a year, or two more of bottle age.

Penetrating, earthy, somewhat alcoholic nose of dark fruit, potting soil, frankincense, leather, cedar chest, nicely balanced palate of black currant and black cherry with notes of dark chocolate, black pepper, allspice, and grapefruit pith, chalky tannins, lengthy finish. Solid.

This bottle was much better than the last one I had, seems this is starting to come together. Black currants, pine and ink on the nose. More black and red fruits on the palate with some blood, talcum, smoke and crushed pepper. This is improving, but still not quite harmonious, at first it was a bit green but that rounded off and it got better with a couple of hours of air. Lacks the pure fruit lift of higher quality napa cabs but has a good freshness and enough acidity too be very serviceable especially with fatty meats.

A very nice, easy drinking CS. A typical big, rich, powerful, high alcohol & oaky Napa Cab. Not much more to add... nothing exceptional, but no liabilities (66/33). I’m going to get more of this for when my Beer-swigging’ Friends come over and I want to look like a Rock Star! 😂

Drank over 2 days. First taste is very ripe with gripping tannins. A little imbalanced like many wines from around Napa. Day 2 the wine has softened and not as ripe. More black cherry with still some tannin. Maybe gets better with some age, but may lack the balance for aging. Would be good with a Ribeye steak in day 1.

Very nice floral bouquet and aromas. Hint of clean/fresh scent. Tannins are moderately tight with some fine grit. Dark cherry and kirsch. Nicely acidic, wet and juicy. Medium finish. Very nice wine which seemed to evolve over the evening.

Really mellowed out overnight. Relatively short throw, with an expected acid then alcohol then tart/chocolate finish. Sits in the back of your throat a while. A little muddled and undefined.

Great wine, deep red with that traditional Napa can flavor. Big and beautiful. Doesn’t have any of the fake underlying sweetness seen in many off the shelf cabs. Going to hold some of this back as it will age well, but not sure if I can restrain myself!

Will easily continue to improve for another few years and should be quite good for at least 5.

This has really opened up since my last bottle. Smooth, rich, dark fruit, earth and very enjoyable.

Decanted for a couple of hours. Nice dark fruit and old vine. A little to acidic. Softened a bit by the end of the bottle.
