Four hour slow ox. Very deep dark magenta color. Blackberry, anise, marzipan, and subtle charred pumpkin seed on the nose. Super smooth, dry palate. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This is quite impressive for the poor vintage. It convinced me to buy a ‘16 and an ‘18.

We drank this bottle during the Clif Family Virtual Release Tasting. It's very approachable for such a young Howell Mountain Cab--the tannins are barely noticeable and there's a nice soft quality to the finish. I think there's room for probably another 1-2 points in my score when this ages just a little.
