I made two mistakes. I bought it in 2009 and at $11.98. It may have faded at bit in aromas and flavors, but still had the citrus and acid to produce a nice tart finish to a smooth, soft melon-citrus flavor. Not great with lemon chicken--another mistake--but quite nice alone.
Well, had the rest for lunch--the right choice this time! With cold chicken and cheese and crackers, wonderfully soft, melon-citrus flavors with great mouth feel and an intense, clean finish. Very, very nice. It was good for lunch on the third day as well!

good, but not great. versatile/flexible white that is a decent value if bought right. The girls enjoyed it, which was the intent when it was chosen. Would buy again if the evening dictated "cheap Italian white"...

fantastic casual summer afternoon wine sitting on the patio with friends. Found it really easy on the palate. Ultra refreshing with crispy acid against soft sweetness. I think it a decent value at Binnys for $8.00.

Just such a delightful summer quaffer with cheese, fresh fruit and some crackers. Gets better as it warms up. Terrific value for $9. Can drink it all summer long.

Pale yellow color, light body. Nice nose of pear, peach, a hint of citrus. On the palate, great balance of acid and fruit. Nice mouthfeel, short finish. A nice summer sipper, would like to get some more, but on sale, not at $11.

Clear, pale straw color in the glass. Pretty tart citrus nose with sweet pears and apple. Clean taste, on the sweet side, but nice acidity for balance. Not a long finsh, but refreshing. Would try it again.

Pinot Grigio is the essence of what Italian white wine can offer - and this bottle is the quintessential example. Zesty aromas and flavors of linden, acacia flowers, lemon, honeydew, white peach, stones and mineral. What I love about good Pinot Grigio is the beautiful floral components of the wine - they don't stand out, but they mingle in a seductive and enticing way. Kris is like a beautifully written haiku - not long and drawn out, but to the point with perfect rhythm...and everything rhymes.
I give this wine a reflective score of 88 - the same as Robert Parker's rating for last year's '05 vintage. I also think he was spot on with his assessment that this is immediate consumption wine - "drink within the first 12 months"...as this is meant to be enjoyed while very young and fresh.
One of my favorite passages in Ecclesiastes says it all - ""Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth..."
Salud!

One of my favorite light whites! Fresh peaches and pineapple on the nose, light grassy hay color, crisp and refreshing mouthfeel with a nice acidic tingle on the tip of the tongue. Apple, pear, citris flavors with a finish that begs for more. Very nice, and a great QPR!

drank over several nights. went best with dungeness crab but still wasn't perfect. more fruit than the more popular, cheaper versions with clean finish.

clear, medium straw with golden highlights, clear, tears fast to form and fade, light intensity and viscosity nose: very clean citrus aroma, somewhere betwen lemon and pineapple, palate: medium intensity, acid is medium+, fresh bright citrus taste, white grapefruit, lemon, lemon zest, kumquat, finish is short+, no evidence of barrel aging, ss, growing region seems normally cool and this vintage was perhaps cooler than usual. Curiously fruit forward for an old world wine. Pair this wine with scallops sauteed in butter, fresh crab salad, crab cakes, any seafood. Mussels would be excellent.

Very nice, creamy, full flavor. A lot more body than you expect for most Pinot Grigios. Great buy!

Italian Varietals from WA/OR/CA and Italy...Blind; 1/23/2010-1/24/2010 (Eastside Wine Storage): nose: stinky sock, woodsy, kinda weird.
palate: thick, a littler papery, with bruised citrus and a watery, empty midpalate. My least favorite of the flight.
