Nice tanins on the nose, hints of cherry, opening up to reveal the bourbon and vanilla undertones. Smooth finish. A very enjoyable journey from nose to tongue. Good body too. I liked it!

Opaque dark violet in the glass. Vanilla, candy caramel and plum on the nose. Transition from palate to finish is where the liquor barrelling process comes through. The lack of a strong tannic backbone suggests it won't cellar well, however this rocks right now as an after dinner drink.

Nose of vanilla, plum, caramel and raisin. Plum with blueberry forward and mid-palate. Thick, almost syrupy mouthfeel, with little tannic structure. Medium length finish ending in a distinct full flavored liquor aftertaste. Very much not what's to be expected from a cab. Paired with medium rare eye filet steaks and baked potatoes, although this meal deserved a solid shiraz instead.

{diam} Dense, dark garnet. Rum and raisin nose, and palate, with plums and vanilla. Palate is distinctly sweet, and not just from the oak I’ll wager. Medium/full weight, ripe and sweet, with minimal dusty tannins. Undetectable acid, short medium finish which cloys a bit. Grows increasingly sweet in aromas and flavour as it sits in the glass. Bistro wine in every sense.

Vanilla oak, plum and cherry with caramel hints on the nose. Medium to thick mouthfeel with a fine tannic structure. Plum and blueberry backing to an intricate palate showing molasses and more caramel. Medium length finish leaving a candy flavored liquoresque aftertaste. This actually paired well with marinated Teriyaki flank steak stir-fry. Earned an extra two points for the unusual palate my wife and I both liked.

Really enjoyed this. Soft like a good merlot should be with a hint of sweetness. Traces of rum on the nose, smooth tannins, medium body, with notes of vanilla and toffee. Lingers with a silky, jammy finish.

This was different to what I usually drink. It probably won't pair well with most food but it is great for after dinner, maybe with some heavy cheese and dried fruit. Deep ruby with a med body. med tannin, low acidity and dry. Aroma of oak, vanilla, red fruits, cherry and toffee. Tastes of vanilla and rum with tannin at the front then smooth and soft on the rest of the tongue. A long finish with berries and toffee.

A Tuesday Night Wine - Very bland.
I was expecting a bit of a kick being its aged in rum barrels (perhaps the vanilla mellows it out)
NO: purchase to enjoy.
OK to drink at social functions.
