Served blind. Immediately thought of Sonoma or Central Coast Pinot. Rich said it was Central Coast, which honed me into Santa Barbara. This wine was well-crafted and had the dark brooding fruit, savory, and dark earth profile that I associate with Domaine de la Cote, so I was able to hone in on the producer.
Always happy to try these wines. Thanks, Rich!

Brought to a summer evening tri-tip dinner. Still quite primary, but lovely drinking right now with a 3-hr decant earlier in the day. Super fragrant bouquet with loads of red fruit, baking spice, some mint, all stitched together by the maritime climate. Rich and balanced on the palette. This was singing 6 hours after opening. Yum.

Really excellent wine, but it's also still very youthful and will likely be better in the future. This really succeeds in having high intensity on both the nose and the palate, but comes in at 12.5% abv, with bright acidity and fine tannins. My best guess is that these might be thicker skinned grapes, given their proximity on the far western edge od the Sea. Rita Hills. However it was achieved, it works. The fruit has a slightly darker tones than I normally find in Pinots from the area, but in the black cherry / red plum spectrum, rather than some sort of blown out faux-syrah. The expected spice and orange zest are there, along with a pretty big mineral streak.
92+, with a lot of potential upside. A very complete wine and an eye-opener as an "entry level" wine.

Varnish, baking spices, strawberry patch, berry compote notes. Pure and precise character. Over the past two years, it has significantly opened up, unveiling a delightful, lively, and well-balanced wine.

Light ruby color. Fresh bright nose of redcurrant, cherries, hibiscus. Dry, racing acidity, fruit forward and juicy palate follows through. Light medium body. Very good balance. Medium finish. A fun and vivacious American PN dressed to look like a burgundy.

This is my 2nd bottle, opened a year after my first one and it has lost its fruit a bit. Earthly elements overwhelmed the fruit this time. Distinctly less enjoyable than my 1st bottle a year prior.

pale translucent ruby, watery rim; raspberry, dried mushroom, crunchy leaves, green olive; raspberry, tart red berries; light bodied, crunchy acidity, 12.8% ABV, savory/peppery finish of medium length; made from organically farmed Pinot Noir blended from Memorious, Bloom’s Field, and La Côte, 100% whole cluster fermented in concrete, aged 14 months in 20% new French oak; would love to see how this develops over the next 3-5 years as the stem elements integrate

Gave this a splash decant then consumed over 4 hrs. It was much more open and bright then the last bottle 3 months ago. A melange of red berries with some spic and stem wood. Tannins integrated. This is very primary but a juicy easy drinking bottle right now while you wait for the single vineyard bottlings.

PNP Red fruits, purple berries and baking spice Black and Blue fruits, violets and some spice with medium acid and a medium finish.
Decanted an hr and revisited. Much juicer and mineral with bright red fruits. Looks like it needs a wake up call if you decide to open in the near term otherwise let her sleep!

Brought to a gathering of new friends. Has some fun finesse, but still crowd-pleasing elements. Just a baby, this can cellar well. Another beautiful pinot from DDLC.

Early investigation into ‘18 DLC. A bit closed off still after one hour decant...then it started to show its potential. White pepper, berry fruit and slight brine (olive) on the nose. Under ripe strawberry and raspberry, with slight salinity, on the pallate with presence of tannins; slightly meaty and fleshy, sensing the whole cluster. Really integrated over next few hours to show what this may become in 5-10 years. Wait 3+ before next bottle. 93+ potential here.
Color: medium ruby Nose: raspberry and stem. Some cola qualities. Something mineral like graphite or even a hint of gasoline. A tiny bit of manure. Fresh grass and earth, violets Palate: medium-high acidity, hint of tannins. A little bitterness. Medium body and savory. Raspberry again and green stem notes. Finish: long
Ok. 3-5 years early minimum here but super wine. The nose has that ever changing quality, the finish is miles long. Will be stunning. Now, 3 hours of air needed but it delivers pleasure already

Dull at opening. Per other reviews, perhaps this needs hours of air at this age.

A very young pinot. I would hold in bottle for a few more years. The CDD states 2024 - 2033. I agree. Cheers
