Served blind and I got it all wrong bar the year! Thought it was a northern Bordeaux! Actually really liked it with a good balance of fruit and structure. One I'd look at trying again, knowing what it was the second time around.

Still very much a CF. Super smooth and sutile up front, then a total Playboy on the back. Dark Dark fruit with a lot of Smokeyness and bitter dark cocoa

this one getting a bit flabby. A decent amount of raisin. Might be the bottle, might be the vintage. nothing notable yet not dead yet. Will have to try another one.

Medium garnet red. Copious umami and restrained sweetness adds a sophisticated touch to the otherwise Napa-typical fruit. The theme of sophisticated fruit continues in the flavors, which finish with a very well judged dryness that is appropriately tannic in quality. Though I'd never pick this out as cab franc, the fruit here was expertly handled.

Chocolatey, clear oak, but integrated and relatively discrete. Have a few more and glad of it. This wine is ready to be drunk up.

Sonoma-Napa Trip Day 4 and 5; 6/29/2009-6/30/2009 (Napa and Sonoma): Really used to enjoy this wine, but it seems past its prime to my palate. Simple dark fruit maybe a little weedy.
