  • C+D wedding lunch at Village Hotel. My BYO.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fresh earth and stones minerals, purple fruits, boysenberries, blackberries, slight smoke and smoked meat/leather, touch of vanilla oak. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), strong high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of dark sweet spice, sweet blackberries, boysenberries, nice integrated sweet vanilla oak and spice, earth and leather meat. Long controlled yet wild finish.
Very good quality. Can age and develop more, though certainly already quite appreciable now also. Apparently a 100% Carignan?
