What a pleasure to drink - there's a lot going on with stone fruit and apple and hints of petrol beginning to emerge. Seems like this wine could keep going in the cellar, but hard to resist now.

Appearance: medium lemon, some green and gold highlights, medium- tearing, lots of fine sediment, noticeable gas evidence, slight rim variation.
Nose: clean, developing, pronounced intensity, lime, tangerine, green apple, white peach, apricot, jasmine, wet stone, petrol, honey.
Palate: medium dry, high acid, low alcohol (10.0%), light body, medium+ intensity, medium+ finish, lime, tangerine, green apple, white peach, apricot, jasmine, wet stone, petrol, dried apricot.
Overall: A pretty classic, middle-aged Kabinett. Very perfumed with a pleasant mix of fruit, floral, and mineral aromas, along with the expected tertiary flavors/aromas of petrol, honey and dried apricot. The acid/sugar balance is rather nice, but the wine does feel slightly on the sweeter end of the Kabinett spectrum. Delicious on its own, and can handle eclectic food parings; this wine paired wonderfully with both Moroccan spiced Chilean sea bass and general's chicken. Has the intensity and structure to age for a few more years yet, but right now it does feel pretty much at peak.

Day one was good -- lamp oil and papaya aroma, taut green apple palate. Day two this was left in the fridge. Day 3 was great -- the petrol settled a bit and showed more soil tones, with plenty of green apple and stone fruit and verve to spare.

Still not ready. Drank quite sweet w developing Riesling aromas and underlying acidity and stony character. I really enjoyed it but was hoping it would be fully mature.

Great Kabinett. Closer to a "true" Kabinett than other 06s I've tried, still has a great deal of body and weight, flowers and pungent herbs, all held in place by a great slatiness and ripe acidity. Had with Monsoon's lemongrass chicken... great match.

Deep yellow in color with some sediment evident, this Riesling is still drinking very well after 17 years.
